adding vocals
alright so how would i go about this?
i understand how to tell the vocalist to sing in the right tone/chord
but how do i go about getting them to sing in the right bpm?
i am actually no this whole thing, i just recently wrote a vocal track, and i really like it, id sing it myself but i think its suited for a female.
also how do you go about paying them? i know most of them have their own pay rates and such, but what if the track gets successful do they get a cut?
If the singer is used to sing after a click, thats a possibility. But of course the
best thing is to have the arrangement finished, so the singer can sing while monitoring the
track on a set of headphones. As for payment.. Whatever you/she agrees on
Many people
prefer to get paid after the job is done - flat. Unless its gonna be a chart stormer

thats what i was thinking at first ^
but shes more establishes right now as an artist at the moment then i am
i was thinking of sending her the lyrics and beat over the internet and letting her record it, then send it all back to me so i can mess around with it.
i feel more comfortable with doing that.
At minimum you should create a framework track with complete arrangement and major parts already done. It's going to be very difficult for any singer to write lyrics and melody with just a beat.
yeah i have the complete track pretty much done, i just feel it would add more full as a vocal track, maybe make a radio edit later possibly..
its a eight notey track ,but a bit different.
she requested to have the beat and lyrics sent to her
so maybe she will figure it all out with out much guidance from me.
woops edit, misread.
