MixTape5: Drift ...And Let The Light Back In [ambient, downtempo, dub, sprinkles]
The morning after. Coming down. Retreating to your tent. Whatever you call it, every partier has to deal with the aftermath of the night before, and it can be a drag to do so. Thus, I give you a soundtrack to ease you out of your melancholy as you snuggle into a comfortable blanket, lean on a loved one, sip from a warm cup, and gaze thoughtlessly afar.
This mix-tape is more-or-less divided into three section. With scarce hints of rhythm, the first part gently invites you in with soothing tones and reflective moods. Then, we move onto various pieces of music and mini-sets to flow in and out of -though it may come across a little thematically disjointed and at points more uptempo than expected, the purpose here is to casually take in the different sights and sounds of electronic chill-out, to simply drift along as you see fit. Finally, we ground ourselves back to reality with the earthly vibes of dub.
At 130+ minutes, this is the longest mix-tape I've yet done. I'll honestly be surprised if anyone can diligently pay close attention to this for the duration, as I purposefully included bits to let your mind wander from time to time (as any good chill set should do), though you probably won't ever stray too far.
As always, comments are appreciated. Also, I'm quite interested to find out whether this mix-tape ending up properly serving its purpose for anyone.

chunky funky is my shit dawg!
right, this was nice, you have a good sense of programming these things and i was pleasantly suprised with the choices you made. i think there was two transitions that bothered me and that was a point in the middle where it got messy and the end with bringing in neil young which just broke the flow of the ending.
otherwise, i liked this alot. well done
Yeah, the Neil Young thing was a personal choice. Not really a part of the set itself. Think of it as a bonus track. Or maybe a secret song that didn't want to wait for 3 minutes of silence to play out.
Let me guess: the 'middle-messy' transition is the Moby one? Lord knows that one irks me some, but I couldn't find a way to ease that one in no matter where I put it, and it serves as a lead-in to the Feller/Benisch segment, so I just ham-fisted it ...er, as 'gently' as I could.
All in all though, thanks for the kudos!
Missed this when it was posted, grabbing it now.
