All these sample collections - am I missing out by not having them?
Apart from the odd sample pack such as Vengeance fro kicks, I don't buy them.
Am i missing out bigtime?
Here's some text from some of these adds that makes me feel I'm only half a person if I don't have these 'MUST HAVE TOOLS':
"an exclusive array of floor filling sounds, a must have for all minimal producers out there"
"78 sublime floor fillers"
"780MB of ball-bustin breaks for filthy productions"
"a collection of unheard material WHICH IS SURE TO GRACE MANY A FUTURE HIT"

I've been battling with GAS and wonder if this is just all hype or that any aspiring pro better get his credit card out at least once per month if he stands a chance.
I find all the Vengeance sample packs very useful for single hit kicks, hats, crashes etc. I have used a loop or three in my time but they're really quite restrictive and a pita to EQ and mix, so by the time you've accomplished that you might as well have programmed them in the first place.
For the single samples alone i'd say give one of them a go.
I would not describe any of them as essential however.
Yea, I already use single hits from vengeance and a couple of others. What perplexes me is the amount of products that claim mthey're all you need to make floor fillers - you know ready made bass and melody loops etc. I could'nt imagine using those yet tons are on offer so someone is buying them and I wonder why.

i find the vengeance samples pretty useless. their impossible to process as they are already squashed to death, u can only make farthouse with them imo.
I have most of the Vengeance packs, but I don't use them much anymore - the samples have a lot of artifacts (presumably from being ripped from other sources). I've find that I like the Wave Alchemy and Thomas Penton libraries much better - they have more one-shots, fewer loops, cost less, and are higher quality (although the TP samples are horrifically over-limited).
Guys I'm wondering about using loops, I'm not talking about one shots - I already use those.
I've not really used drum loops before, but there is a plethora of these available, and wondering whether I'm missing out not using drum loops.
My inclanation thus far has been to always make my own, but just wondering whether I'm creating more work for myself and perhaps loops are better anyway as presumably they are made by specialists with good outboard.
