SLINKY PLANET: Vancouver. sept.21

Pure Productions is back On September 21st, 2002. Once again they will be bringing Slinky to Vancouver. Last year they gave us the slinky inter-continental tour, this year they will be presenting Slinky Planet: Vancouver.

This year leading the way will be JOHN KELLY, along with DAVE LEE, and NIGEL MIHELL.

Anyone that has attended Pure Productions previous events knows the level of quality Pure brings to Vancouver. All of their shows have done very well and this one will be no diffrent.

This is all the info i have at the moment, as soon as i know more info like the rest of the lineup and ticket prices ill let you guys know.

Pure brought in Danny Howells and Guy Ornadel right? I'll be there for sure.

Posted by j_spot on Jul-09-2002 08:42:

saw dave lee here in calgary a year ago w/ tim lyall. VERY solid DJ.

Not so well known, but can play quite well.

Posted by jesten on Jul-09-2002 12:47:

Sweet, I like it!

Posted by Special_K on Jul-09-2002 19:41:

When was Guy Ornadel in Vancouver? Im not sure if that was Pure. It might have been before i started with them though.

Oh Ya i forgot to say that this party will be at the Plaza of nations

Posted by jesten on Jul-10-2002 01:10:

I don't know about Guy Ornadel either I don't even really recall being in Van.

I am really glad to see Pure back is buisness and I will get every one I know to go and try to spread to word and try to hype it up to help sell this bitch out so Pure will throw more parties.

If you want to send some flyers my way I'll see what I can do.

Posted by Sean Walsh on Jul-10-2002 02:20:

Guy Ornadel and Danny Howells, at Sonar. October of 2000 if my memory serves me correctly, it was either a week before or after Halloween, I remember that much. Was a fricken awesome show too.

Special_K: If this is a plaza party, are you guys booking any other DJs? If so, where can I send a demo?

they had one scheduled last year but cancelled it

maybe in the future...

shit i cant believe i missed Guy Ornadel. I dont think that was pure though, but like i said i started with them in december of 2000 so its a possibility.

Im sure they have all of the DJs booked by now because the flyers will probably be out seen, Im bringing them my demo next week. Ill upload it on Ta some time in the next little while for you guys to hear, its pretty good, tons of work has gone into it.

Nigel Mihell kicks ass, hes been down for pretty much every pure show and he always rocks the crowd. Im looking forward to this so much the music is going to be awsome all night. Like i said as soon as i get more info you guys will be the first to know.

Jesten: I have a bunch of people lined up to flyer alrady but if we need more ill let you know. We are most likely going to need some help flyering clubs.

No big deal dude. If you a bunch of of people already I am happy. I couldn't flyer clubs during the week beacuse I work such fucked up hours, it's 10mins to 5 am as I am writing this now, so hitting clubs during the week is a problem and I am sure you have enough people for the weekend.

As for Nigel Mihell, he is good but he might as well be a local since he has played so many parties here.

Peace

Dancing Dude

I reckon this should be a pretty sweet party too, i've been to a couple of slinky nights here and they've both been good (though i've not been down to their home in Bournemouth where it's supposed to be best).

You might be in luck with some of the other big clubs starting to do tours you know. Trance is pretty much on its last legs with regard to the big clubs here with the likes of Crasher going monthly and all, so they could start looking to do such things, you never know.

John Kelly used to be one of my big favourites a few years ago (he was a big Passion favourite) but i've not seen him for ages so that'll be cool.

My arrival in Vancouver gets more exciting all the time, first summerlove, now slinky, and sasha to follow...sweet!

HappyHappy

Is this THE John Kelly who's had a residency at PRIVILEGE Ibiza This year. He kinda looks a lil crazy, has an eyebrow ring(i think). If so this guy is the shit. I saw a John Kelly at privilege on july 8 this year and he was fucking amazing playing the sweetest progressive trance/uplifting trance. He was my surprise dj of the trip. If this is the guy van city may get a serious invasion of calgary ta's cause id love to see John Kelly again, if its him.

Posted by Special_K on Jul-29-2002 23:55:

Chig:

This it THE John Kelly. The John Kelly that helped Pioneer the UK club scene. You know how most DJs have a few superclubs listed under their names for their residencies? This is what John Kelly has under his:

John Kelly
Serious,Cream,Gatecrasher,Godskitchen,Minstry of Sound,Slinky

and thats only a few. Its rare to see dj with residencies at pretty much every major super club. Open any MixMag, or MoS magizine and on the adds for partys John Kelly is always at the top of the headliner list

During the Summer John Kelly lives in his villa in Ibiza becuase of all the bookings he gets there. The JK you saw at Privliage is the same guy. On top of JK we also have 4 other major headliners Believe me this show is not to be missed

See ya there =) I've heard of this guy for years, but I've yet to hear a liveset of his. Anyone have anything recent?

Posted by Special_K on Aug-07-2002 00:56:

I heard a liveset from him @ Gatecrasher a while back, not sure how old it was.

It was progressive.....really good.
