Modern Binarly Explosives

This is a bit unsettling. The email I originally received this video from suggested this was what the Christmas bomber planned to use (though I am not certain whether that is true or not). Anyway...groovy background track...

Quite unsettling. However, while the explosion was obviously relatively powerful to blow up the watermelon, with a little more, would it be enough to rip a hole in the airplane? 3-4 lives isn't near as important as an entire airplane full of people and an unsuspecting city.

Could they not just ban lighters and matches at checking? Is there any other way to light something like this?
