Question Sample packs and production !!

Hello every one !
last week i found a remix contest the song is made by benjani its called naya ! so i DL the pack and try to make something !
yesterday i get the vengance club 3 sample pack , so i started listening to what 's inside it and in a folder called secial sounds there are some cool synth loops ! and guess what !! THAT guy benjani his ENTIRE song is made from 5 loops from that folder ??????? even the main melody !!
so my question is what about the rights i mean could i use the same melody (kuz i have the pack too ???) or the same bass lines !!
thank you !! ^^

Well that wouldn't be very original, would it?

I would say wrong forum, but I don't particularly want this in the Production Forum either, you can deal with it Stu .

He just changed the bpm and added a beat the simplest beat ever i mean the kick snare thing !! a loop for a bassline a second bassline loop a loop for the melody and a loop for an offbeat bass and two atmoshpere loops every thing is by default in the VEC3 package :s !!
i wont remix this i wont be pride of myself if i did ^^ thanks every one for ur answers !!

Do you have a sample of the tune in question? And perhaps the samples he used?

I wouldn't mind hearing this 'originality' of his.

well i think it wouldn't be illegal because otherwise they would give you the samples seperately and NOT put any loops inside, so you know what they are for... to use them I guess

but as everyone said, that wouldn't be very much of a skill and pretty lame

Depends on the sample. If its something from an "organic instrument" that it would be impossible to play for various reasons, one being not having a violin, trumpet, sax, ready and available player etc, but the melody/sound fits your idea, nothing wrong with using a sample.

Producers make entire songs using different samples from different released songs, creatively what is the difference between using a sample from a sample cd or taking it from a record? But yah it is a bit awkward to have every single loop in your track come from a sample cd, or without any cutting changes to the samples.

Samples thats come from synthesis, i'd say either change the way the sample sounds, or make your own with the syntthetic sound creating tools you have.

You have to realise the reason why people use samples is that the sample has what the producer/artist has in their head, or when they hear the sample it fits their creative vision. Recreating the exact melody, sound, recording, is not possible for various reasons. Using samples doesnt make anyone any less of a creative mind or artist. At the end of the day how and where they use samples, and the sounds and melodies they choose to accompany the sample is what will make the usage creatively and artistically important. It does take talent to use samples well and write music around them. And the restriction of not being able to change the harmonic or melodic content. A sample is only as good as how well a Producer uses it.

...and when you construct an entire track out of pre-made loops you might as well be using Dance eJay.

I can only imagine people just starting out would actually make a track entirely of unadaultered pre-made loops. Maybe more people should if it helps them get going. Some just need some inspiration, a little push.

That's sorta the idea behind tutorial books like "The Trance Experience" and "Production Mixing and Mastering with Waves", although those books go well beyond just providing you the building blocks.

Some people are just more audio/visual than reading text. Its rare to find much in a 'trance or house for dummies' guidebook of use, when we are talking about creativity. Better for aspiring Producers to try things out on their own, even if the beginning involves training wheel loops, and then ask a forum like this questions they need help on. Another thing is making music has its own intrinsic teaching quality, there are things I learn on my own that I would not learn anywhere or in any book if I didnt try things out. Some of those are technical, some of them are philosophies, things a book cant teach.
