+1 from me man, really nice mix.
I like this solo guitar a spatially on the end (has more freedom - good musician). I use too play solo guitar so I can appreciate creativity and quality.
If any (and you know better - this is only IMO) I would like to get this basic/classic guitar more expose, sounded like is layered to deep but have really nice tone and keep this song interesting.

Well done my friend,

Cheers

Not bad at all man, nicely done

Agreed: the guitar is a nice touch!

Suggestion: modulate the cut-off of the bass-line to give it some variety and help build tension in the song.

The guitar makes it, really cool track.

Doesn't matter how many remixes I hear of this track, I still love it.

I think you're right about the acoustic guitars tbh. I had the idea of a partially rhythmic, partially melodic guitar part from an old a-ha song from 1988 or something!!! I'll have to mess with the EQ a bit because I don't want it to be in your face, but I do want it more apparent than it already is.

Cheers Darek

Glad you like it, thanks

I have played around with the bassline a bit but it never sounded quite right. I always shoot myself in the foot by making busy mixes which then makes any level or character changes a domino effect of tweaking. But then I like a busy mix so feck it!

I just keep listening. Is there any possible way we can get an MP3? I hate to be THAT douchebag, but I gotta ask.

woah great work, way better than the last one you posted. the bass much improved, whole track improved. only thing i could pick out was that the acoustic guitar gets lost later on in the track.

Oh yes I agree with the acoustics, you're not the only person to pick up on that.

There will most likely be ONE more so called 'final' version where it all works together.

Thanks for the kind words

It's never final till is final - I always make this exception lol.

I would love to listen this final/final version.

PS - IMO should be released.

Alright, I personally think the kick just comes in a little too awkward especially with the snare. Dont know how to say this but theres a little bit of an empty space in the mix, the pad seems a little too high and airy, the bass is a little dry too. Add a sub, sidechain it. I love the guitar, keep it, very powerful!

I think you may be right about the drums, the intro was probbly rushed a bit as my ears were going off a bit when I was finishing the track off, i've decided to do another mixdown so i'll try and blend the intro a bit better.

I have played around with the bassline a bit but there's an awful lot going on in the mix and I decided to leave a bit of room in there, which is quite unusual for me

The pads, well I just love thm that way

Thanks for the comments

Wow - this sounds great! I think you've got just the right balance of instruments in there now - it leaves lots of room for the vox to shine, effects to come through, etc. And, yeah, the guitar is definitely a nice touch! Nice work, Geoff!

Can't ask for much more than a 'wow'

Cheers Dave

Yes, apart from asking a pal of mine to play the guitars too. The track was started from the ground up with just a vocal acappella to work with.

I already gave you feedback on this, but here's a bump for what it's worth. Really well balanced track, I can easily see a lot of people liking it!
