Radio Slave or Heartthrob?

Both are coming down tomorrow night. Can't go to both. Who's seen either of the two recently and how was it?

I've only seen Radio Slave and that was in March last year and he fucking killed it.

Isn't Radioslave playing Lucianostomp and Guidohairrufflejive?

Meh.

And Heartthrob plays barren wastelandy stuff.

Radio Slave plays very percussive tracks. I don't know about what you're referring to, since he started playing the tribally African chant stuff right around that time (that was also right around when Koma Koma/Sundazed came out). Either way, he does know how to move and hypnotize a dance floor very, very well, so I would still recommend seeing him perform.

To be honest, I would much rather see Heartthrob as Radioslave's sound has been incredibly boring as of late.

edit: I've never seen either live however, so I can't really say.

Heartthrob's live PA is pretty crazy, I'd do that.

It's wastelandy techno, but some of it is also quite beautiful and he's a talented producer.

Posted by Seppuku on Jan-09-2010 21:24:

Yeah, that album he did on Minus not too long ago really was actually pretty decent.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Jan-09-2010 21:49:

they both play music that go nowhere...that being said live pa > dj set.

you've been clubbing for like 2 months according to your age, the only thing that is debatable is whether your balls have dropped or not.

I like Baby Kate more than Bell Clap Dance.

Found out Radio Slave will be on at 12 and Heartthrob gets on @ 3:30. Looks like a fun night ahead

k you win.

i just always pictured a live pa being a guy playing his own tracks with some cool gadgets, but not having the "flow" of a dj set.

Posted by Lews on Jan-10-2010 05:46:

So basically you have no idea what you're talking about? Cool.

Posted by LoveHate on Jan-10-2010 07:48:

i never said i did, idiot.

Yeah, what Lews said.

Well executed Live PAs generally have a much better flow than a DJ set since tracks are made by the same artist and played, tweaked, modified in order to fit one another.

So what you're saying is that you've never downloaded a live set to listen to?

Also, I'd go see Heartthrob.

Posted by Morphology on Jan-10-2010 20:28:

If Heartthrob drops the Baby Kate sound, I'm in.

Posted by IpLaYWiTLiGhTs on Jan-10-2010 21:09:

Radio Slave turned out pretty meh...but I can't blame him because he was playing for an entire warehouse of 14 year olds. Seriously, big WTF on the venue.

Heartthrob was definitely more interesting. After the party got put on hold for about an hour because of the popo, he went relentless and murdered.

i have , i just think only a few guys can actually pull this off, i still would prefer a dj set.

maybe if i was going to see underworld or something.
