desyn masiello @ dream review?

Anybody go this past Friday? (1/08/10)

Someone mentioned how he's mixing better stuff lately, and I wanted to see if it's true. Just started graduate school and the first day of class was conveniently at 8AM on Saturday so I couldn't make it

I went and I got piss drunk. He played from 1am-5am close and he did a good job of playing for that small club atmosphere. He was dropping deep dark bass lines with some groovy funky house beats. I had a good time!

So you were interested in my 1000mk3's and you're local right?

last hour of set

anyone notice desyn his last hour drop the tempo to 110 and throw down beyonce? I have never seen him do this before but it seemed like a whole mess of black people upstairs came down and he started playing this open format/ r&b mixed with some downtempo house beats.

I gotta say the man knows how to mix everything. I noticed after his pink floyd edit he threw down beyonce and some 80's dubs with classic basslines. Very familiar tracks but without vocals. I also noticed he went with an add2basket vibe and even threw in a few add2basket tracks... this complemented the 80's vibe and the disco feel he was going for. All in all it was cool of desyn- I heard the drum and bass set was suboptimal in nyc. This tho was funky and seemed to me like everything was an edit of some sort. For example the beyonce track was the vocals sampled on top of a fat grind it out kind of bassline that broke down after the track was mixed in. I would like to hear other people's reviews as I was shattered and this is the best I can do. A track or two of ID's would be nice
