Set times and throwing a party

Say, two people are throwing a party @ a bar from 9-2. Should the headliner play from 1-2 or 12-1. Also if the headliner plays from 12-1 is most of the audience going to leave, before the last dj goes on?

12-1 OR 1-2, its the same thing.

If the audience is a teeny crowd w/ short attention spans, dont put the headliner on late, theyll leave before.

If the audience are druged up, you can put 'em on late (closing set).

Dont put em on too early (10pm), the crowd will still be sober = shy to dance.

It will be upstairs from a bar 21 and over, should I get on from 1-2(closing) or 11-12.

Don't over think it.

Just remember the people later in the night are the ones who party/dance harder, and usually are the drunker ones. So put on the DJ with the most energy later.

The first dj just has to read the crowd and play it by ear.

well atleast two hours then. he wont get a chance to thrill people with building and progression during one hour. one hour sets are waste. get a cheaper headliner.
