electronic cigarettes

so, i have a kid on the way, and i have been told by the trouble and strife that im not allowed to smoke in the house when the baby comes. i told her she can bollocks as there is no way i am smoking outside, i will smoke in MY computer room, where she need never go.

she was still adamant that im not smoking in the house, but as far as im concerned she might as well shout at catshit, as smoking outside is not an option.

then she tells me about these electronic cigarettes.. they warm up nicotine vapour and warm up and light up at the end just like a real cigarette.. and also it feels like your smoking a cigarette which is a bonus, as i have tried on of them inhalators before [which you use to try to quit] and theyre like sucking on nothing, which is generally annoying.

has anyone tried these before?.. or does anyone use them regular or know anyone that uses them?

apparently theyre cheaper than regular fags, and ofcourse less dangerous for you, and best of all, theyre safe to smoke indoors and around kids and stuff, which is the main reason i want to try it, as i point blank refuse to go outside to smoke, and i could do without the fucking earache off the missus

untrue.
dont waste your time with them. there was a study done on these electronic cigarettes and it showed they all contained the harmful carcinogens which the claimed to not have. i bought one, took a few puffs and now its collecting dust on the shelf. i continue to smoke cigs and hookah.

I thought that only wator vapor comes out when you exhale.

Link to the study please? My friend just bought a bunch of these and thinks they are the best thing ever and he is about to start selling them amongst his friends so if they are really just as bad I kinda wanna warn him.

i cant remember who did the study... frig....

but, yes, it is water vapour which comes from heating a gel (found inside the "filter" which is made of whatever chemicals they put in it. maybe those chinese even put lead in it for you.

Tried it once, it leaves an awful taste in your mouth =/ I actually enjoy the taste and smell of cigarettes, and with this, it's all gone. Me and a bunch of friends tried it, no one has sticked to it.

They taste bad even with the flavoring drops? He has like 25 different little bottles of flavor from menthol, to non menthol, to fruits, etc.

Looking for a compromising solution is certainly better than not giving a shit at all.

flavoring drops? Didn't know there was something like that to add to it. But still sounds awful though, I don't want menthol or any fruit taste, I just prefer cigarette taste

I bought one of these last October, after seeing a friend with one.

As soon as I started smoking it, I completely switched from tabbaco to the 'Intelicig', it took a while to get used to, but after the initial day I never thought about rolling up again, all my nicotine cravings were being satisfied by the nicotine cartridges.

I smoked it in work, round the house, in bars and in clubs.

After just under 2 months of using, I cut down on the cartridges and I quit smoking. So now I'm smoke free and feel a million times better for it .

Do they work? Yes.

Are they worth it? Yes.

Should you buy one? Yes.

I have tried them and it feels exactly like a light cigarette. You still feel the hit at the back of your throat when you inhale, but it doesn't burn. It's very smooth and you exhale vapour similar to that which comes out of an air humidifier.

The only thing I found lacking in them was the sound and feel of the cigarette paper burning. I had no idea it was such a huge contributing factor to why I liked cigarettes.

You won't feel that your craving is 100% satisfied, but it definitely helps. You'll be chewing a lot of gum if this is the route you take.

All that aside, I had no idea you were such a selfish prick ignorant to the damage that second-hand smoke causes. Seriously. Man the fuck up. Slip your coat on, light up, have your cig, and go back inside.
And stop being such an asshole to your wife.

Do you want your baby to be born with deformed organs and respiratory problems because you are too much of a pussy to stand outside in the cold, satisfying your addiction?
Think about it.

You're not willing to just go the fuck outside? Tobacco smoke is a major risk factor for SIDS. If you're willing to accept even a remotely higher risk your child will suddonly stop breathing in exchange for not having to walk your ass outside for a smoke then you, quite frankly, are not equipped to be a father.

Time to quit and log off, with some huge lol memories.

I downloaded two of these today.

see my last post above.

i kinda figured tho that being able to smoke in a room of my own with the door shut and window open would suffice.

and ania, i hardly think im a selfish prick at all. theres people out there that smoke directly infront of their children and newborns.. worse still women smoking whilst pregnant. as euphoria said earlier.. it is a compromise

Unless that room is sealed off from the rest of the house and the air is evacuated it doesn't really make any difference that you're in another room. Additionally, you should wear one garment for smoking which you will remove prior to picking up your child and wash your hands between smoking and picking up your kid. I'm a smoker and a father... I know it's annoying; however, it's the responsible thing to do.

Well whatever you do, don't take your child outside - I READ ON THE INTERNET THERE'S FUCKING RADIATION OUT THERE! RADIATION! YOU OWE YOUR CHILD ONLY THE BEST IN LIFE SO DON'T TAKE IT OUTSIDE.

mock all you like; however, stepping outside for a smoke is a pretty reasonable step.

I can see why you're in porn.

Posted by jupiterone on Jan-13-2010 20:25:

why won't you go outside? smoking indoors isn't healthy for the kid regardless of whether it's a baby or older. i say suck it up and make a sacrifice for your habit
