Morning Sickness not the pregancy sort".

I thought I would share my dilemma with you chaps. I as far as i know have reflux or so i have been told. I wake up in the morning and start to cough and then i dry reach or be sick. the dilemma is that i am fine if I lay in bed but as soon as i get up it occurs.

Now i was recently overseas for 6 months, and I didnt have the problem at all up and till in the last 3 weeks or so of my returning it started to come back. then since being back in australia i have had it, and I had it previously before i left on my holiday.

I really have no idea what causes it, Dr's have given me antacid med's, did ulcer test nada etc, one Dr has mentioned it's psychological that i have some issue lol which i have many.

Does anyone experience something similar or the same. any thoughts greatly appreciated. im sure a doctor floats around in here somewhere..! As, i am at a wits end on this.

thanks

Maybe you have an ear infection.

Posted by Energy_3 on Jan-14-2010 00:36:

God i love the sense of humor in this place.. Ear infection?

my ears feel fine unless its something that goes on unnoticed. I had it for a long time even prior to me going overseas.

and Pee, yes well it seems to make it worse after I go the toilet. I figure that over night my stomach gets air init, as one of the valves which i hav been told doesnt close off prop. so toilet releases bladder, pressure back on stomach, sick.

yep..

thanks for the input

I understand but why when i was overseas for almost 6 months i didnt have a prob at all. I figured that my bio-rythem became unconditioned in someway which completely minimized it up and til my return which was enough time away for it to return back again.

Edit: if it was an ear infection wouldnt it have been consistent throughout, i guess it could come and go. but i hav had it for a good few years, on and off.

Nothing to worry about, sounds like the early stages of terminal cancer

Jennypie and Neophono are probably the only TA's that can help you, Energy_3. She's a nurse and he's a doctor

However, I'm also the resident South American smart-arse, so I'd like to tell you I think it's lupus.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jan-14-2010 01:13:

I just don't really understand what he's saying. So he's actually been diagnosed with something? If it's a faulty sphincter, like he said, his symptoms don't sound unusual. Sounds like GERD.

Posted by Energy_3 on Jan-14-2010 01:13:

I will head to the Dr's today again, and mention an ear infection. Coz its a pain in the ass getting up every morning with this.

must be lupus

Thanks Jennypie. the diagnosis was informal, no real tests were done to determine my having a faulty muscle in the stomach (it was assumed). some years ago I had a endoscopy and the results came back as everything is fine. The only reason why they concluded a faulty flap was that my dad when he was younger had an operation where they wrap a muscle around the faulty valve. so i expressed this to them thinking genetic. though not always the case. the result of all this was nexium and the like in meds.

my concern is that i was overseas for 6 months as mentioned not a prob i was fine full appetite etc but then it returns back to what it was prior to leaving

thanks heaps

care to elaborate?

Does your doctor think it's bacterial then if you were overseas? Have you done a blood test?

Also, how much do you weigh and have you recently put on weight? Reflux can often be cured simply by losing weight, even though you are taking Nexium which makes my company money so maybe I shouldn't tell you that

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jan-14-2010 01:34:

Well that makes even more sense, because I think GERD tends to be genetic. An endoscopy is not enough to diagnose.

I mean, it might not even be that...to be honest the GI system is one of my weaker points of knowledge.

Well actually it could be a spider bite, worms or even maggots growing in his body. He's fucked.

i havent really lost or put on weight pretty much the same. And, Fleds the thing is i had it prior to my travels its been an ongoing thing though on and off, sometimes for weeks i would wake up and be fine others not then it would happen for a week or two. happens in cycles.

@igottaknow. on my issues LOL take up a new thread!
@bas. aussie aussie aussie

Jenny i will check out that link

I really am stuck with this, if it was genetic then arguably the predisposition would continue over time and i would thing stay the same or increase but neither have occured.

Are you on hormone replacement therapy? Strange question, but seriously.

ha yeah im taking progestosterone to grow some boobs. Well, I have been into bodybuilding for 10 years or so now, been on an off the juice here and there. Second to that, i had a low testosterone reading once upon a time, and i managed to get testosterone proprianate from my Dr, which ihad been on prior to him given me it.

so yes, not prescribed therapy, but self induced
