I might go, if only to make sure all the island iced teas are long.

... This thread needs the above video. Actually, every thread needs the above video.

Somehow (but maybe I'm wrong) I don't see B&J as an act that can fill Opera on a Wednesday.

Amazingly... they did. It was a full house (not packed but full) from 11pm when I got there till 1:30amish.

They played a very nice set too... only on for 2 hours and change but they played deep trance the whole way through. Best ten bucks I've spent... Sander Van Doorn - Ninety & Binary Finary for the highlights of the night. Lots of stuff I couldn't ID as well.

I love this thread.

I've got to ask, though, out of curiosity... Did most people enjoy the music? I was considering this until I heard about a dozen or so radio advertisements that Wednesday is now the big college night with 18+ clientele... and said naaaaah, maybe not.

That's awesome, though, if it was a success

Are you fucking serious?? College night? LOL... I remember back in the day when i went to a college night here in Charlotte it was a bunch of kids (some who were probably 16 or so).. Must be desperate for peeps to show up if you make it college night... IMHO

Most everyone was into it - I didn't notice a huge age gap.. but I really don't look for that sort of thing. The more and more I think about it the set keep sticking in my head as one of the better sets I've seen in Atlanta (trance-wise..) They were also put on the lower tier instead of up in the VIP area.

The crowd was cleared out by about 2am or so which has been the norm there from what I've noticed. I'm just glad enough people showed up ~ If people really want more trance artist coming thru Atlanta then that's what is needed. Events like Cosmic Gate is just going to encourage artist not to book here.

Some of my videos to judge for yourself..

Looked like fun too bad it was on a wednesday.

Posted by Calamar on Jan-29-2010 05:37:

I planned to go, but I felt lousy Wednesday night and stayed home instead. Too bad -- seems like it was a good show. Thanks for the videos.

Important question: Did they drop Lazy Life?

Posted by ZeeRobot1 on Jan-29-2010 11:55:

I also attended and all my prostatots were all up on that pole haha.

I found a few videos...this one caught my eye---I've never been to Opera, but has there always been a stripper pole on that platform in the middle of dancefloor?

Posted by inferno on Jan-30-2010 03:30:

seems like there's just no pleasing some of you.

Posted by AlexiM on Jan-30-2010 10:45:

No.. the pole was new.. and hilarious at the same time. I also noticed the top of the sitting areas lighting up now.. but maybe I just didn't notice that before.

So people who go to electronic music events in Atlanta listen to 95.5 the beat? So I guess they are marketing to the right radio stations?

Well, people who go to Opera listen to 95.5...I'd need to see an actual study to prove any correlation between 95.5 and EDM

No, not really. It's been on before, but I don't listen to it regularly. If I don't have a cd in the car I flip through channels. Atlanta doesn't have one decent radio station. They all play the same crap over and over.
