Wink Sidechaining Question

I was wondering, what are some good synths for a sidechaining sound? (I know how to sidechain, just having some problems finding the right sound.)
Thanks.

almost alt-like.

Sorry, I don't really know what that means. (I'm new to producing)

If you know how to sidechain then you know you don't necessarily even need a synth.

My recommendation is to read up on the production forum master tutorial list and when you have a real question post it on that forum.

Good luck!

Nexus or an Access Virus -- that's what all the new producers flock to.

You forgot Sylenth1. Sylenth1's sidechaining response is superior.

@RAVproductions - that was sarcasm - it doesn't matter what synth you use for sidechaining. It's just an effect that you can add to any sound.

^^^ also, Sidechain doesn't affect the shape of the sound

A classic example of an over-used term

Start out with a pad and sidechain that. Easiest way to get a grip of it IMO. Don't matter which synth u use

You'll go far.

hey rav sidechaining is just a way of lowering the volume of one sound when another sound the 'trigger' plays. If your new your probably trying to make the pumping bass sound if thats the case try sidechaining two low octave detuned saw sounds to your kick drum then you will get the ripping pumping sound that is found in several styles of music. When you realise thats not the only use you can start to use it to give something extra room in your mix like tonight for example i had a pad and some plucks playing at the same time and they clashed so i set up a side chain to pull the volume of the pad down whenever a pluck sounded (even though it was rubbish because you could hear the compressor acting to much) but thats an example of a further use to sidechaining.

Pads , Basslines etc.

Thanks a lot, Sonic. I appreciate the advice. I was just wondering how to get the enveloping sidechain sound, which I think I've found. But still, thanks for the feedback.
By the way, I listened to some of your songs and I must say that they are very good and professional sounding. Mine are nowhere near your level.
