2010.02.27 [LA] Martin Roth | Ronski Speed | InFocus Resurrection
Martin Roth's website shows that he will be spinning Feb 27, 2010 at Rancho el Farallon in El Monte. This is not in the EVENTS listing yet, and I'm not sure how to get it there, but has anyone been to Rancho el Farallon before and are there any good hotels nearby?
I've been waiting and waiting for Martin to come back! I'm kinda surprised he won't be spinning in Hollywood, so I may have to make a trip out there to hear him. I know that he's in SF this Friday too, but I have to work so I can't make it...I'm sure it will be a great night tho!

Great, I'll add Ronski to the thread subject...his website shows it's called Infocus Resurrection. I'm still wondering how these stellar DJ's ended up in El Monte though? Not that I'm against a trip over there, but seems they could easily fill one of the large clubs in Hollywood...
Edit: Groovetickets still shows "Location Los Angeles TBA:"

Tix are only $20 right now though! Not a big JOC fan here (Circus 2/27), so I seriously may have to check this out!
I like JOC, but I have never seem Martin Roth &... RONSKI SPEED! WWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAOUUUUUUUUU! I am on it! Thanks Don!! I am in!! Cheers!!
I should be back from Indy at this time, so should be ok for me!
Damn, it has been a while I wanted to see those 2 producers live!
Happy face!
Ronski Speed isn't that good of a DJ. He should stick with producing...

So I have been talking to my buddy throwing the party, and it its not at this ranch. It is going to be a block party festival in Downtown LA similar to Nocturnal 2007 but a smaller scope
talent
Ronski Speed_(Euphonic Records - Germany #69 Top 100 DJs),_Martin Roth_(Lunatique - Germany),_Dj Coone_(Dirty Workz - Zoo Records - Belgium),_Mc Villain_(Scanntraxx - Dirty Workz Records - Holland),_Nico & Tetta_(Traxtorm Records - Italy),_Maral Salmassi_(Television Rocks - Germany),_Zero Cash_(Television Rocks - Coco Machete - Germany),_Villains_(Los Angeles),_Disco Villains_(Arizonia),_MORE TBA!
I also noticed that it's called a "make up event," so wondering what happened to the original event and how it's going to be better this time around? Location sounds good, long as everyone's protected from the elements.
This event will be happening on my non-birthday (which occurs this year sometime between 2/28 and 3/1), so it would make a great celebration!
Haven't heard anything from Roth or Speed lately... it would be great to hear their sets and keep up with their sound. I love Ronski Speed, not gonna lie. His remix of Markus's Daydream was nothing short of epic. As far as the way he talks... that's another story lol. "hallo zis is ronski speed"
wtf0xr?
You guys really don't care for his DJing, like technical skills or just track selection?

| Originally posted by alpha.wav I agree Ronski is not a stellar DJ all the time. He more often fails to impress with his dj sets, but I have a few of his DJ sets that are just amazingly awesome. All those good dj sets are from when he plays in Germany, though. so wtf? he seems like a fish out of water when he's in the US. so it maybe a mental block on his part. |
Any idea when location TBA will change to a real location? I'm really looking forward to hearing Martin Roth again...Everytime I hear him spin, I'm really impressed, and the reviews sounded great from his set last Friday in SF too.
This event's happening in 5 weeks, so I'd hope the location can be locked down soon and then we can buy our tix with confidence!
Still don't know what happened to the original InFocus either, looked it up on Ravelinks for a little while and everyone seemed to have loved it. Anyway, I assume this make-up event is not about mascara and eye liner... ![]()
i wouldnt mind seeing martin roth or ronski speed, location please!
Tix must be selling well, they increased to $25 so got mine before they're $50 or something... Official word on the location would be nice, 26 days away now!
I played with Martin Roth about a year ago at Circus for Nikita. He played some really great stuff, one of my favorite producers of 2009. Dont know much about this party but Im sure he will deliver
its gonna be a block party in the streets somewhere in la, they just havent released the addy yet.
Address is 425 E PICO BLVD, LOS ANGELES, CA 90015. Like I said in the earlier post, it will be a block party on the streets.
Space Rockerz will be that night too...the rock live!!!
Any info on parking for this event? Would like to make sure my car is still there when I get back...
Heavy rain forecast for Saturday, is there a tent or is this out in the open?
As the event promoters are doing a swell job keeping us updated on this event here on TA, I'm passing on this news found at Groovetickets.com as a public service:
ATTN: Public Release We have just been notified by the city that due to the rain conditions, we are unable to use the street closure as planned. Our power requirements for the street closure require a lot of power runs through the gutters, which is now out of the quest. Instead we have relocated all of our tents, production, artists and event to a production studio and parking lot, located at 516 S. Anderson, Los Angeles, CA 90033. The event permits and requirements are already in place for the new location, as we prepared for this in advance, to avoid another reoccurrence of last years event. The location has a 5,000 person capacity with tents and full production as planned. Anyone remember Nocturnal Wonderland 2007, well get ready to experience it once again. All tickets from last years Infocus 09 will be accepted for entry at the door. Tickets at the door will be no more than $40. All talent is in town and ready to go, plus we have multiple surprises for you and your friends. Log onto www. SubliminalEvent s. com for complete event information and continuous updates in our blog. EVENT OPENS AT 6:00PM & CLOSES AT 4:00AM. THE EVENT IS ALL RESPONSIBLE AGES AND HAS ALL PERMITS AND LICENSING IN PLACE. InFocus Will Be Resurrected Under The Moonlit Sky, With Expansive Tents Covering All Stages
Hey thats like really close to my place!
Looks like the storm has passed and LA is dodging a bullet like SF did last night. Was supposed to be messed up weather All Day Yesterday through this afternoon, but the storm went through a lot faster and there was a perfect break yesterday afternoon until 3am then it rained for a little bit and that's it.
Sounds like the system down in LA sped through the area too, so it'll probably be a great night as long as the grounds aren't too wet.
It's being held inside a warehouse due to the anticipated rain, maybe 2,000 people in line now? I think I've been waiting 2 hours, not exactly sure tho, got lost a few times on the way over.
Yeah this is why I avoid events like this. The lineup is nice, but smaller event companies don't always run their events smoothly.
What happened? I heard the event got cut short?
