-- illness...teh suck
illness...teh suck
Norovirus FTMFL!
Got taken into hospital Sunday night after puking up all contents of my body till it was just bile coming out and my stomach felt like it had being used as punch bag by Tyson. 4 drip bags later and a load of anti-sickness drugs later I was let out.
At home now and I feel so damn rough. I was supposed to have an Exam right now which I will have to resit in the summer. Trying to revise for my next exam next wednesday and I can hardly sit on this chair without falling off.
I dunno what to do, I should be in bed resting....but if I don't study I feel that I will fail the exam, which makes me worry, which makes me feel sick...its a horrible circle.
I have no idea if this makes any sense BTW...
Listen to your body: it needs rest. Go to sleep!
I can't sleep though, i'm too worried about studying for this exam...I know I probably should rest but I know I can't.
Just eaten a banana sandwich, I really don't feel like I can wat anything without bringing it back up again. Hopefully I can keep this down.
Listen to the nurse.
I've been there buddy
In the past few weeks I've had a bad throat infection and I was making myself retarded worrying about how I am going to go to class and keep up with everything. I was making myself worse because I couldn't sleep.
Just realize that you will be able to catch up with everything and that no one expects you to be a super hero. Relax and sleep.
Or relax, study a bit, and THEN sleep. I know that doing a bit of school work makes me feel like I am getting organized and being efficient. Then I can relax and then I fall asleep.
My worry is that if i'm ill for much longer I will fail the exam. However, if i'm not ill for long enough, then I can't get a note from the doctors to say i'm too ill to sit the exam.
This fucking sucks.
You're not going to resolve a fucking thing worrying so much. Just focus on getting better by any means possible - drink retarded amounts of water, sleep whenever you feel tired, maybe even take Nyquil if you have to (assuming that's otc in the UK... maybe not because of the diph). You're only going to prolong your sickness by not taking care of yourself first. The exam is obviously going to have to wait.
Can't you get the exam put off without a doctor's note? Or with a doctor's note saying that you /were/ very sick and lost time/fell behind (even though you might be a bit better now -- though it still sounds like you can't function normally, so that should be enough of an excuse). Fall semester I had mono and a bad case of strep/fever within a month of each other. I struggled to catch up (and never did) and waited until two weeks before the end of term to realize I was completely screwed, at which point I explained my situation and got to finish a couple of classes during January. I don't know how the system works where you're studying ... would something like that work?

the point is that even if you're fine by then, you can't study now when you're barely able to sit up in a chair. hopefully the doctor understands that. sucks mate -- get better soon!

Woke up this morning feeling rough as hell with the added bonus of having a blocked nose and a sore throat.
Went to the Doctors and she said that there is no way I can do the exam and that I am stupid to try to get better and do the exam. So i've got to go in tomorrow to pick up a letter from Doctors.
You could have just listened to all of us from the start.

Keep drinking fluids as well. Last thing you want is to risk shock from dehydration.
