How NOT to post an ad for female vocalists

The topic of finding vocalists on craigslist comes up every now and then and I just spotted this prime example of how to scare females away, so I thought I'd share:

Lessons to take away from this:

- If you're going to include a photo of yourself, maybe try taking it in your studio surrounded by music gear instead of at your computer looking like a psychotic rapist

- if the photo includes you sitting at a computer, please make sure that both hands are visible and not doing anything inappropriate

- don't include your fashion-blind stoner buddy Dougie in the background blockading your skanky apartment door with a chair

i think you should be very direct.
State the music. What range is needed for the singer ? What style of singer chest voice , headvoice...
State your experience
State your ambition
And state if it is paid

there are alot of amateur singers that will do it for free just as there are great singers that will do it in one take for 100$ an hour which is rather cheap. I think it is crucial to be clear as to not waste anyone's time.

In all seriousness, though, RichieV pretty much nailed it. It's amazing how many people write the worst ads, then can't understand why they don't get any decent responses.
