Review: Sultan & Cedric Gervais TIL

Got to london about 11 pm with manzone just destroying the place! what a great opening set it defiantly set the mood for the night.

Was kind of upset that the club wasn't that full but the people who truly knew skill where out in full effect

Sultan... WOW!!!! his mixing was flawless, FLAWLESS!! track selection was incredible... whoever missed this guy Shame on you. He is such a nice humble guy too and can't wait for him to come back! he dropped Villo i went nuts!

Cedric Gervais : ok his track selection was decent but his mixing was terrible.. and the thing that shocked me is that he was in Traktor, I don't know if he's just new to it but it was bad, he did have the build ups down on it though.. they were pretty crazy other than that though meh

Manzone & Sultan were awesome great great great night, Bring on Angello & Avicii

I think they were both using Traktor? It was in the '2d External Mixer' mode lol.

Yes it wasn't that packed but still fairly busy. The reason why it wasn't so busy was because the bouncers were telling everyone that it was guestlist only and were turning down regular people who weren't on guestlist outside. I got there around midnight and saw this happening. I had to grease the bouncer a $20 just to get inside which was irritating. I brought up the fact that it was weird how they were not letting regular people in, and he said how now after 11 PM when guestlist closes they're not as leniant anymore which I thought was BS.

That was my first time greasing off a bouncer but I did it cuz I wanted to hear Sultan. He played a lot of familier tunes including:

Joris Voorn- Chase the Mouse
Late Night Alumni- You Can Be The One (Sultan and Ned Shepard Remix)
Sander Kleinenberg- This is Our Night (Sultan and Ned Shepard Remix)
David Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso, Dirty South- How Soon Is Now

Sultan played pretty much like his producations..which is a good thing! Very melodic progressive house, kind of weird to hear after dealing with tech-house for so long for me. It was an old school type of sound which I miss for real.

Cedric Gervais was alright as well. I don't know which remix of Leave This World Behind he played but it was good. I would agree his mixing was off...like there was this one time where he mixed right into the beginning of one track, with just the bassline and snares and it kinda killed the vibe right there...actually it was right after Leave This World Behind! How can you not follow up after that song when it leaves people in such a high state? I thought he was playing interesting...definately diferrent from Sultan. I was enjoying Cedric a bit more because of the variety of tracks he played but thought Sultan's mixing was better technically so it's a toss up between both. Cedric played the classic Strings of Life as his second last song, I think it was the original too.

Yeah it was a good night out, it ended at like 3:30'ish. Maybe Chinamon has the answer as to why the bouncer were doing what they were outside. I told you I'd bring it up on TA and cause controversy!
