Falony - Pistol Juice [dubstep/deepstep/thesamestepeveryoneelsestepson]

It's been a while since I recorded one and I was feeling rather lazy about it. So yes, there's plenty of incredibly familiar artists in this, but nonetheless, I had fun doing it. And had fun playing it safe. Certainly not something I'll take all that seriously, but the tracks are vibe and that's all that matters, amirite?

Awesome mix man, nice flow, tight mixing, mint trackselection. You really don't give yourself enough credit.

I absolutely loved this. So much, seriously. I already listened twice and it will be getting many more listens from me. Beautiful work man.

Glad you laaaike.

I thought this was probably one of my weaker mixes since it's very familiar and safe tracks. Nonetheless, thanks

I've been listening to this on and off for the past 3 days. This set was very nice, dude. Dubby, breaky, relaxing, and in some places, quite trippy. A few mint tracks in several places, namely 22 minutes, 45 minutes, 62 minutes, and 98 minutes. I can see why you think you played it a bit safe; nothing in this mix was too outlandish or had any wawawa womp womp fartbass.

The flow was pretty decent for a 106 minute set, I'm glad you threw in some interesting tracks so that the set didn't get too boring. Mixing was practically perfect, only one minor levels slipup early on in the set. Good stuff man, I'll probably listen to this again later!

Really safe tracklist but all great tracks nonetheless, will deffo check this when I'm home.

EDIT: That new Joy Orbison Remix of Four Tet is AMAZING.

Yeah, its pretty hard to have an inventive/groundbreaking dubstep mix since the genre is relatively new and quality tracks are so limited, thus everyone playing the same tracks/producers. That being said, all of these tracks are excellent and its nice to have them all in one mix. You did a great job technically with this one... I really need to learn to mix this stuff. Definitely will be keeping this around for multiple listens.

I actually tried mixing some dubstep with cdjs for the first time a few weeks ago Trace. It's really not that bad, the 2-step structure actually feels easier for me to beatmatch than 4 to the floor for some weird reason.

Posted by Seppuku on Feb-09-2010 17:04:

I need to mess around with it some more. Never really pursued it, just gave it a shot a couple times which was disastrous.

Posted by Ted Promo on Feb-09-2010 22:20:

Yeah, dubstep's not all that difficult to mix, but you have to be bang on a lot more because if the phrases don't match almost perfectly it can sound like a jumbled mess with a quickness.

Thanks for checking it, too. I've regained my faith in dubstep since it seems good productions are coming out finally. Even if most of my friends are into bassnectar lol.

Grabbing now, looks mint, cheers

Some excellent stuff you got here.

I really dig this one. I wasn't familiar with dubstep/deepstep/whatever step at all so wasn't sure what to expect, but this was surprisingly nice. Good to relax on, but didn't get boring at all.

Posted by Ted Promo on Mar-20-2010 23:21:

Hah, thanks for the bump and thanks for listening. I still gotta listen to yours, it's sitting on my hd.

This is honestly probably my weakest dubstep mix in a while imo, but glad you liked it. It works as a good intro into the deeper side of dubstep I suppose. Plenty of accessible and consistent producers to hear and in my opinion some of their better tracks. Nonetheless, I played it super safe and didn't dig much whatsoever.

In any case, thanks for the time and input
