beatport parties @ the gansevoort?

it seems as though beatport are moving up the road to the gansevoort to use this space

just went to the Gansevoort website and if this really is the new venue it looks amazing! Does anyone here remember when the lineups were announced for last year?

the hotel is friggin sweet. this would be a great new location. wonder if capacity is bigger?

be careful with this place, it really nice but, they have a noise ordinance. they usually (at least all the times ive been there, 15 plus times more or less) have the music pretty low and it gets boring if u are there to do anything but chill.

i havent been since the summer was over , mayb its changed. or maybe for wmc they have diff rules.

Wow, that sucks. I hope that Beatport is able to crank it up if they do their parties here.

No worries On WMC all the sound systems are BLASTed!!!

It appeared that last year, the National Hotel totally took control of the door and were strict on shutting down the party at a specific time. That may have something to do with it.

i've heard it may be on the beach or on a vacant land area just north on the Gansevoort... not actually at the hotel itself... we shall see...

Hope they post their line up soon, we're already buying tickets for events to save $$$ on the door.

Well that confirms it. Kind of a far hotel - though its closer than Eden Roc. Not sure how these will go but have the feeling they wont be free - unless it isnt at the actual hotel.

Is there more than one beatport party? James Zabiela's myspace says he's playing at the beatport pool party on the 27th!

Yeah. I think they begin usually on a Friday and go through Sunday. And each day has different DJ's performing. Though I'm not sure if they will be free this year like the years past.

hoping its a free beach party with the stage on the beach.

the gans is part of the opium group now so all of the parties should be included with their wristband...which makes it even more attractive considering beatport parties are vague at the moment..

i think your info is a bit off... as far as i know the Opium guys just run Louis at the Gansevoort... which they have done since it opened over a year ago. i'm sure they have nothing to do with the Beatport event, in the event its even held on the Gansevoort property.

just confirmed from Opium email, they beatport party (which will be FREE according to him) will get priority entrance and no denied entrance with the Opium pass.

interesting - i'm very surprised to hear that. my best educated guess as to their involvement was obviously wrong based on the email you got...

there is a zip file out there which supposedly has an animated press release for what's going on, but my virus software says its infected and prevents me from opening it up...

im sure this will be out real soon.

supposed to be announced after the weekend i think...i'm curious on this cuz it'll stick something else into my plans depending on the line-up. last year's josh wink, radio slave, etc lineup was great. i listen to the sets a lot at home.
