This kid is crazy!!

MONTE VISTA, Colo.(CBS/AP) Chores are never a teenager's favorite way to spend a fall afternoon, but for 14-year-old John Caudle chores were the motive for murder, Colorado police say.

Photo: John Caudle.

In an arrest affidavit, Caudle told investigators that on Oct. 26, 2009 he argued with his mother because he didnt want to do household chores like taking out the trash or cleaning his room. Then he said he went to a gun safe, removed two .22 caliber pistols and shot his mother dead.

Caudle said he then hid in a laundry room and shot his stepfather when he
walked past a short time later.

Family members found the bodies.

After allegedly killing his parents, he spent the evening watching movies and playing on a computer.

The next morning, Caudle even drove his stepfather's truck to school, according to KUSA-TV.

His friends and teachers said that Caudle seemed "happy" the day after the murder, investigators said.

Authorities have charged Caudle as an adult in the slayings. He faces two counts of first-degree murder.

and why was the gun safe so easily accessible?

Wow, we live in a fucked up world!

they talk about cigarette smoking scenes being offensive etc. yet horror flicks with gruesome deaths that desensitize today's youth just keep increasing each year.

exactly... if you have a gun in the house it should be locked up.
But then again you don't need a license for guns in Colorado.

The kid is obviously fcuked up and if it didn't happen now it probably would have happened later in life since he was "happy" the next day at school... WOW!

Even if parents beat there kids is doesnt mean that they will behave better. Kids that are beaten have a tendency to act even worse than kids who dont.

lol ok.

how many times you heard of something like this happened back home? or kid walking to a school and going postal?

im not saying "beat/dropkick your kids" but im not saying "billy, go take a time out", "billy go to your room" or "billy no xbox for 2 weeks" either.

well there is a difference between discipline and full on beating/abuse (obviously).

I used to get a wooden spoon or a sandal...lol

My parents yelled at me a lot when I was a kid and didn't listen...

I remember I actually used to prefer getting spanked cuz it was quick. Nagging and yelling are usually way more annoying and drawn out....therefore I was more inclined to behave better when they started verbally punishing me just so they would stop lol

omg I got a sandal/slipper
my dad's belt with a metal buckle
my ears got pulled in public (lol)
and of course countless slaps when I got bit older (i.e. for showing up at home at 4am instead of midnight)

I'd say for the most part I learned my lesson, but I think I was a bit TOO terrified of Mom at points = and it's not good :\

stories like this make the hairs at the back of my neck stand-up

Not really. A lot of people who were beaten as a child end up beating their significant others when they're older b/c they think it's okay.

And by beating I mean hitting and/or punching hard, not just a little spanking. As Chris said, there's a difference.

the worst about ear pulling was how embarrasing it was.. I just wanted the ground to swallow me!
I had a kurfew (ha!) till I was 19, and at 19 I moved away to Canada so that all became irrelevent
