Labworks - Ibiza Sunrise (remix)

I made this remix a while ago, any feedback appreciated...

Wow! This is very good, sounds so professional. Amazing intro, and great melodies. Sounds very rich and full with all the layers. I remember you said before you only use software, is this all software? I especially love the "Xpander"ish synth that comes in around 4:40, too bad it stops when the beat kicks back in.

BTW, is it possible to get a full version of that remix you posted a long time ago of some Orkidea track? Cause that was SO good

Posted by breakaholic on Jul-12-2002 15:32:

Yep, it's all made with software. Unfortunately I had to fade out that "Xpander;ish" synth so early, it just didn't work so well anymore together with the beat and stuff.

Sorry I never finished that Orkidea track. I also think it sounded quite good but I was too busy with my own productions at the time. Anyway thanks for the feedack...

wow, pure quality as always!!

i really enjoyed this track!

if i can offer any suggestions the open hat seems to flange
which sounds not so good, are you using two open hats at the same time?

also, i think a nice, thick, clear bassline in this track, would really bring it out!, it would make it 100% better!

(imagine gouryella - gouryella without its trademark bassline!)

keep up the good work!

Posted by breakaholic on Jul-12-2002 16:25:

Yes, there are two open hihats playing at the same. It makes that "chorus" effect, thought it would fit the deepish sound like this. I personally think it's ok .

Heh, tell me about the bassline. If I can create something better hmm.. let's say in 15 minutes then I'll maybe update this track . Bassline is made with the Waldorf PPG wave, I try something else...

back in town and you're getting my first review breakaholic

i love this remix, sounds almost pro, when only that bassline would have been a bit louder and more driving... it feels like it's missing that part.

for the rest, definately good synths, good fx and a smooth and lovely intro

keep working on it buddy and it'll be perfect

That's a big compliment for me, thank you . Airbase/Shane54 remixes are my personal favs.

My equipment list is short: Orion Pro/fruityloops & some softsynths.

Nice work. I usually dont like songs with vocals, but this was an exception heh. DO u have stuff on mp3.com so we can hear more of your workx?

Posted by oDrori on Aug-04-2002 10:29:

I must say that even though I don't like this track too much, it's definitely proffesionally made!

I have some very old stuff on: http://www.mp3.com.au/artist.asp?id=4938, I posted these songs here about a year ago . I guess it's time to mention that I've been a signed artist since February 2002 and got released my first single "The Beetseekers - Skyway" on EMT design. The vinyl is out and available on streetbeat. Unfortunately this means that I'm not allowed to post any of my recent works but maybe some unreleased remixes like this .

Hey man that rocks, I love Skyway!

Posted by eLe_vatE on Aug-05-2002 11:53:

This is pure mintness, no wonder you're signed, EMT design are a lucky label, Helstrip would be proud of the quality of those synths and pads

Hey did you read this!?

taken from www.john00fleming.co.uk:

The Beatseekers - "Skyway" - EMTDESIGN (Finland)

Im always moaning that I cant ever find any classy, euthoric driving Trance until those kind chaps at Trance.nu sent me this! I actually headed for the B side entitled Synergic pulse. A driving lush monster!! I road tested this at the Gods kitchen festival and it nearly demolished the main arena!!! This is a serious piece of kit for any Trance lover. (4/5)

I think I'm gonna have to buy this one

Posted by breakaholic on Aug-07-2002 22:11:

Yea, I actually read this review today . I also heard the godskitchen live a week ago and the response from crowd was really good so this is more I ever could expect to happen.

And thanks to rest who has replied...

So you used FruityLoops....so whats Orion Pro or whatever

Can you teach me how you made it :P.

Posted by 8Wonders on Aug-10-2002 01:44:

Very nice track indeed, I have some comments in addition to the ones that have been suggested already.

At the beginning, the female vocals are drowned out by the melody, I would perhaps up the volume.

Throughout the entire track, the synths just drown out all other sounds, I would most definitely tone these down. It all sounds too loud.

Overall a very good track, a well deserved 9/10.

HI BREAKHOLIC!
Where u found the vocals of Ibiza Sunrise?
Can u send it 2 me???
Thanx

Posted by breakaholic on Aug-10-2002 16:13:

Well, I was asked to make this remix so I got the remixkit. I can't share it without permission and btw. it was over 90 megs so way too big to upload anywhere.

Posted by Trancevision on Aug-15-2002 10:45:

have you improved the bassline yet ? I love this track, it's awesome ...Trancevision

Posted by breakaholic on Aug-15-2002 15:16:

I think this song is past now so no more improvements. It's more important to focus on my own productions at the moment so time to move on
