Shame / Disagreement Message from Armin van Buuren

I have some information about the 'bad mixing' that was happening at Sensation White, during Armin van Buuren's set (and probably other DJ's sets as well). This was not due to their mixing, and it was a problem with ID&T. Armin has asked this information to be posted to let you know that the problem was not with his mxing:

quote:
EXCERPT FROM THE #ARMIND CHATROOM
I went to the tranceaddict board and there seem to be some mistakes
people were complaining about my mixing, but I honestly believe that I didnt make any mistakes.
So, I downloaded my own set for the first time in my life and heres whats the problem
think that the mixing has been f*cked up by id-t
EXACTLY JENSER
Thanks for that
Its ID&T that was constantly switching from live stream from Sensation and the MC's mics
the nmixed live sounds in it wich didn't beatmach
<|dEEKAy|> yeah
pfffffffff
<|dEEKAy|> it sounded weird
Yeah. I was blaming the station.
<|dEEKAy|> the echo of the hall
Because Gielen's set was also messing up.
pfffffff Im so glad that my fans understand this
please pass on this message
We will.
i did NOT make any mistakes, as far as I know
Armin_IDT: I will pass on the message to the boards if you wish

Armin_IDT, perfect as always
thanks El Zapo

So you've read it for yourself.

I witness this........

I can't believe I actually talk to Armin in a Chatroom

He is the man...........

Posted by HardKiller on Jul-11-2002 19:31:

So this means we can't judge erik-e, johan, jean & mercello either? Pretty fucked up by ID&T then!!!

Posted by Fir3start3r on Jul-11-2002 19:32:

That makes sense to me.
I know there were a more than a couple people complaining about the changes in 'volume' and stuff during the stream.
I noticed that a bit too actually, but being that I was listening it to it @ 96k over the internet, I couldn't really make any determination on exactly what was happening.
I am glad to hear it wasn't Armin's fault though

IT's unreal that armin finds time to go online, let alone in a chatroom. He uses smiley faces, very nerdy, very cute . How often does he come on to chat?? He prob. usually gets such an esteem boost from coming on here, if PvD came on, his head would pop for sure. I woder what program he uses to download, maybe the hub?

cheers
Ilina

Prick!

Armins mixing skills are brilliant! He really makes an effort to get his mixes good.

I was curious about johans mixing because his TE2002 set, was just amazing and faultless so i was very suprised to listen to him trainwreck... this explains it.... although im not quite sure that it makes sense

that's what i'm talking about, people these day don't understand sarcasm.

i noticed the mixing problems too, but i thought armin was nervous as he sad in his episode 54 interview with ray wilson. however, i blamed the volume problems on id&t, caz those were REALLY weird. it's good that armin's name is clear again.

the thing is when ur performing in a big club, you dont have to mess with the bass controls when bringing another track in because the beats are so loud if they cancel each other out partially (as they always do if ur bang in with the mixing) its still loud enough in a club to make no difference, whereas hearing over radio, it is very notiucable, as with slightly out of phase beats, if they are a noticably small bit our of phase on the radio, in a club you are not as likely to hear it due to the loudness. anyway thats my theory...

Yeah he does apparently. But I don't see anything out of the ordinary about that.

btw: Armin also mentioned that the tracklist you guys made for his Sensation set has mistakes in it. Heh..

Unless you say "Armin never does bad mixing".

Posted by Tranz on Jul-12-2002 01:05:

Who really cares???? I think most people knew it wasn't Armin messing up. It seemed obvious to me that it was a shitty stream. Kind of funny that Armin checks out the TA boards, but I've talked to him in person a few times, and it's nothing to brag about.
