Great place. Way, way better than the other lame-ass "fine dining" joints in the area like the Octagon. Prices are ridiculous of course, but if you're ready to shell out that kind of cash on a wine-and-dine, Terra is the place to do it.

i dont think the prices are *that* ridiculous but it is definitely a bit more than average. every time i go out for dinner i am prepared to spend roughly $100 per person anyway.

Terra is great! My family has been going there for a long time now, my grandparents were actually their first customers ever! they always treat us like gold!

The owners also just opened up a restaurant at the base of blue mountain, rusty's I believe it's called. I haven't been but family members have and I hear it's worth a visit if you're there

I havent been to or heard of Terra's, but I'll be Rusty's is *nothing* like it.

Rusty's isnt fine dining. Though ATM it is one of the more popular choices of bars at the mountain to get wasted at with ur buddys when your barring on weekend.

I liked it better when it was the Original Motorcycle though.

depends on how they taste on the grill

I've been there - ambiance is quite nice. Great for a romantic dinner.

Oysters are good.

Food is average considering $$$.

I probably shouldn't have used the term "ridiculous." They are fairly standard fine-dining prices. Compared to the average sit-down meal at a quaint mafioso restaurant in Woodbridge, the prices are exorbitant. Once in a while I certainly don't mind coughing it up, I just wouldn't go every week.

Again, the thing about Terra is that at least you feel like it's sort-of worth it. Several other $50-per-plate restaurants simply put on a big show with dim lighting and valet parking and serve you the same $2 Chef Boyardee as the meal. Still, unless it was a heavy date, there are other places I'd rather go.

Nah, man, those ones you take to Subway, and keep talking about how awesome it was that that Jared guy managed to lose 200 pounds just eating subs. Not that I'm insinuating anything. How's your veggie sub honey?

Posted by Schadenfreude on Feb-12-2010 07:20:

toronto is not a culinary hotbed...the menu reinforces it...i don't even have to taste it.

is this really an "in" dining destination?

lol

/foodie guy that is lolling at what you get via price.

How long are you going to keep trolling? People lost interest in the Montreal/Toronto e-penis contest 5 years ago.

Great place, been there mamy times when I lived up in York Region. Great owners too, if it's still the same couple.

I think it was originally owned/operated by the same guys that do North 44, but that was many years ago.

Was definitely a nice place, go give a it a try....
