Exclamation Apogee One

http://www.apogeedigital.com/products/one.php

Your thoughts? I've been looking for a nice small interface to just record demos on with my guitar and i came across this. The price of it is a mere $250. Wondering if it would be worth it, considering it is Apogee lol.

MEH nevermind, you can only use it on a Mac.

Nice little single input but I got me Echo Audiofire4 for less than that, which has 4 in 4 out, HiZ inputs on the front with trim controls, midi, and is solid as a rock.

Re: Apogee One

Dj Rann covered it.

I don't understand why Apogee is releasing products that alienates at least 1/2 of their market.

this product makes complete sense, from Apogee's business standpoint.

It does - I can't think of any really good single input guitar interfaces that are that compact or from such a good brand.

I reckon it will be fairly popular.

exactly...and Apogee needs a feet warming entry into their brand by people with smaller pockets, or people just starting out, so that one day when they do get a hold of some cash, they've already been part of the Apogeee family once. Next time they buy into something like their Ensemble or 16 AD/DA or Rosetta series...etc

So basically they can start with Apogee and then grow with Apogee, as their needs expand. A product like this is almost like trojan marketing, for a company that has Apogee type product offering.

Apogee Ensemble works on a hackintosh?

Wouldn't go near it.

We had to set up an Ensemble to interface with Protools HS at work and that thing gave us so much shit during setup it virtually wasn't worth it. In fairness, it's not supported for PTHD, but it doesn't like to be used for things that it;s not perfectly meant for so I dread to think what it would be like on a hackintosh.

I just don;t get the hackintosh thing. Just buy a fucking mac or deal with windows.

Well I have a Macbook Pro and it has so many problems that I'm sueing Apple, day 5 I'll meet Apple people on a audience lol
Intel macs are not in the same quality of old macs anymore.
Because of this, this year I'll construct my ultra very powerful hackintosh and say goodbye to Apple stupid people.

You know that new Macs are made in China? I don't trust in chineses anymore, everything that I own in my studio that was made in China has a lot of defects, bugs and more... Definitely China can't make pro products for the audio world..

What would you expect from people that eat dogs? opsss sorry....

.edit: sorry if there are any chinese here that don't eat dogs. Every rule has an exception! And you're here with us proud Chinese!

Maybe the problem come from the americans that can't manufacture audio products anymore or the people from the rest of the world that don't want to pay for the quality of hardwares. That same people that are leading us to the Loudness War and like to hear overcompressed trance tracks. The Masses! The end of the world...

Unlucky, sorry to hear it.

I haven't had a single issue with my imac and this is possibly the 15th (and most reliable and capable) computer I've ever owned.
