Hi All,
Since I couldn't find anything on this forum about a collaboration topic, I made my own (go me!).
Anybody who is willing to collab on a song should post here, stating what DAW they use, their experience and their vst/hardware setup.
I myself am open for collabing, I use FL/Logic DAWs and have a plethora of software/hardware, with 4 years of experience in both Hardstyle and Trance, you can expect some unusual and unique sounds from me

I'll throw my hat in the ring, but with the caveat that my time is very limited and I tend to over-commit myself more often than I should.
Anyway, the DAWs I use are in my sig and the rest of my gear/software is listed on my website (click 'cryophonik' link below). You can also hear 20-some examples of tracks there and on myspace (also linked in my sig). My primary DAW is Sonar, which I've been using for about 5-6 years. I've used Cubase even longer, buy I use Sonar more, so I'm more proficient at it. I'm a relative newb to Live. I also use Project5 on occasion.
I produce a wide variety of EDM (house/trance), as well as more downtempo stuff, some electronica-influenced pop/rock, etc. I try not to pigeonhole myself into any particular genres. I also work with a few female singers/songwriters and I prefer songs with vocals. And, I'm not afraid to admit that I love cheezy dance music with chick singers (Fragma, Lasgo, Cascada, Ian van Dahl, etc.). That should scare most of you away. 
i would be happy to do a collab with someone but it would have to be with someone interested in asot style tunes tho! ive never collaberated over the net before but have in person, anyone who has done this before i would like to know how you went about it.

I did all those 3 tracks. I have a few more but on a different HD. Out of those 3, I was pleased with 'sunset city'.
My style is different now. I listen to a lot of chillout, acid louge, breakbeats. I hardly listen to that much trance anymore. Only classics.
My setup is very simple:
PC: Quad core, 4 GB Ram, 2 HD (350 GB & 500 GB), Echo Gina 3G interface, ATI R4350 GFX card, Win XP SP 2
1)Magix Samplitude 11
2)Sony Acid Pro 7
3)Propellerhead Reason 4
On occasions, I mess around with "Mackie Tracktion' that I got with my Echo Gina installation CD.
And some vst effects suite, mostly for enhancing the sounds I make with Reason 4. Like Sonalksis EQ, Waves LL3 Multimaximizer, etc...
If I do serious collaborations though, I would want to find someone in Toronto, Canada. That way, I can build a trust. I have a hard time trusting people on the net.
I will describe a method of collabing via INet -
Someone starts a project, and the other person will need that project won't they? the most efficient way of storing a project for collab is to use a nice little app named Dropbox, its free to download and free to use, you can store up to 2gb of stuff in the dropbox app and it will sync to online servers, so your friend or whoever you will collab with can be sent a link to download , fast and securely, unlike most speedyshare and share sites, anyone can download them, dropbox is safe
the other method would be to work together on one system (LAN)
but the first method is easy for everyone .
If anybody is willing to collab on a euphoric trance song, with some influences from other subgenre styles, feel free to PM me, I use Logic and FL studio, but I have knowledge of working around the DAW barrier when it comes to composing on 2 different DAWs.

Overdub techniques for multi-Daw Collabing
How to overdub?
What I mean by the term overdub is to record seperate tracks of sound, and piece them together in a sequencer by composing the audio files in a fashion that makes a song, obviously it is the goal of this method.
A laymans explanation of how to do overdub;
You have 2 DAWs , 2 people, 2 studio setups, you want to make 1 song.
So how to go about doing this?
You have to have some co-ordination to who is making what here, it would be wise to download the dropbox application from the internet as it can seriously boost your sharing content quickly, Overdub techniques like this will be used to create a sound, and record the Audio file as a .wav file, and to send to the other person, via dropbox is easy as you can create a private folder where you can link and sync to the others' dropbox so you don't need them to be online to send you stuff!
most overdubbing would consist of two people making a plethora (bunch of) sounds and recording them as seperate (solo) tracks, allowing the other person/you to make full use of the sound, the only downside is that you would have to go through the whole recording process for a melody for example, if you want to change a few notes, the upsides are that it saves a hell of alot of CPU on the mixing DAW and you can do some funky shiz with the sampled wav file, it would be wise to make 2 versions of every file, dry (no fx like delay and reverb, but eq would be wise to keep it on) and a wet version (all fx for that track playing) so that you can see what you would need to add later.
Also- it could be even better to make some SF2 font files to help with synth sounds and leads, there are multiple SF2 building applications out there, find one and pick one that suits you, if you are low on knowledge of how to build a SF2, there will surely be some walkthroughs and how-to-do tutorials on wikipedia or some other sites.
Overdubbing is mainly sed for recording bands live and sequencing in the composure of the song after all is recorded seperately, if you have had experience in that then I'm sure you will have an idea of how to build up a song with this form of technique.

Phrequency, aren't you describing the process of just sending eachother stems?
I'd reckon when collabing with someone using different tools (DAW, VST's etc.) this would be an easy and somewhat hassle-free solution.
Pretty much describing the process I use myself and explaining what it is and how to do it mate
im open for a collab, sometimes i feel if i had a better half i could get something pretty great done.
i live in mississauga ontario, would prefer you live near toronto. you probably seen my stuff in the music promo section, however im open to making, trance, proghouse, prog, techno, techhouse, downtempoprog, prog breaks. it would be by bouncing wavs not project sharing. some more of my older stuff myspace.com/djmsz although havent updated for a while. I also have a passion behind the decks, so a dj partner wouldnt be out of the question. i have gotten really good feedback at gigs.

Yeah i'll be up for a collab....
Mostly Trance stuff but i do vary in genres....
Daw - Ableton 8
Vst's - here's just a few.. V-station, Sylenth1, Alchemy, DSP Discovery.
I have mobile me account so 30 gig of storage that we could work from. I just make a folder for both of us to have rights for saving etc.....or we could use Dropbox.
