from Jane, drive to the DVP and take it until you get to steeles.
once you get there, get off the 404/DVP and go on "WOODBINE AVE."
keep driving on woodbine until you pass hwy 407, and then it should be on your RIGHT, its gona be in this plaza, so just look for alot of cars parked, and its there!

p.s. if you passed Hwy 7, then your too far, make a U turn and look for it on ur left side

Don't go there earlier than 2 am!
That place is a tomb before that.

Posted by Pepi on Jul-12-2002 15:53:

hi

now that i hear this 2am thing i think i will hold off till next week cause i want to go to the beach early saturday......thanks everyone
and yes what time is it open till??

Posted by itikia on Jul-12-2002 15:58:

I believe around 7:30 or so. Its not a tomb before 2! As long as you show up after 12am you should be fine.

Remember to bring your shades, your going to need them.

Posted by OrZonE on Jul-12-2002 18:26:

Yes, the place isn't a tomb unitl 2, I exaggerated - it's a tomb before 1am . The official closing hour is 7, but I never stuck around there for that long . The light show there IS amazing.

KarateKid ooh..

haha i made the mistake of going too early once .. :]

can't wait till they start posting their MOS DJ tour dates up on the site !

Posted by Rev. Paroxyzm on Jul-13-2002 23:12:

aaaaaaaahhhh

don't go!!!!!!

unless you're asian... it's best to stay away.... far away.
unless you like having knifes and guns pulled on you.

Posted by dEsidEL on Jul-14-2002 01:02:

KarateKid viva...

haha u talkin bout the time some dude got stabbed .. ? what major club hasn't had someone killed in it ..

guess i'm Asian so itz ok for me to go too .. heh :]

too bad, if some of you don't go atleast once ur missing out on quite a show, that place has the best technical effects outside of Guv in TO..

Posted by Rev. Paroxyzm on Jul-16-2002 17:09:

I live in Markham
and i've been to Viva 2 times... maybe 3... i can't remember.

Anyhow... If you're asian.. it's cool... but probably still pushing it. You have to be FOB
:P :lol

As for the stabbing... i don't know the full story behind that, but i do know that there's always muggings and shit there.

Anyhow... the whole asian-mafia problem is why School and Destiny doesn't throw their events there anymore. The Liability is too pricey.

Sylphin Destiny did throw one of their Ascension events there last year. I think School tried to hold a weekly event of some sort there too. but as you probably know Destiny attracts mainly the "raver" type crowd. So obviously they had to stop after all the complaining from their partiers about how there was no "PLUR" and all that mafia crap haha!

KarateKid

yea Destiny actually had resident nites there before if i recall correctly..

odd thing I've noticed over the years .. Dr. Trance likes to put up residencies at these more predominantly Asian trance clubs.. ie. Space, DropZone(D2), and Viva..

anyhow, itz a good club, but yea ur in the heart of Asian territory.. if itz not ur thing then stay away. But check out the club atleast once if u can itz quite the place.

Posted by itikia on Jul-18-2002 14:53:

Destiny did have a regular Saturday night there, but it was unsuccessful hence why they are not there anymore. There was also a whole other incident however I am not at liberty to discuss what exactly happened..

All I can say is that the people that own/run VIVA are very respectable and honourable people as are most of the Asian community. I have always had a lot of respect for Asians and this comes from my days in highschool.

People always put down Asians even at Guv. Well let me tell you some facts people, if it wasn't for the Asians the Guv would have never been as successful as it is today. They are there every week and they drop large cash in that place.

Don't forget the ginos itikia, they're there every week as well helping the Guv be as successful as they are today.

I noticed that too, I see him everywhere I go. lol j/k

Posted by itikia on Jul-19-2002 15:05:

But wait, who was there before the Ginos jumped ship?? It was the ravers and asians. The gino now make up a very large percentage of the crowd, they represent the mainstream crowd.

BTW, Trancewave i didn't post your second quote

Posted by dEsidEL on Jul-19-2002 16:00:

KarateKid styles...

so does this mean that gino's are slow to catch onto trends .. ?

a lot of their car racing styles bite off Asians as well .. hrmmz what's up with that

Ginos strike me as the type of people who test the water with their feet before jumping in..

Good point with car racing; the asians were the first ones here in the GTA to start that trend.

whoops my bad itikia, I was quoting dEsidEL on the second quote but forgot to put his name.

By the way guys, do you know when the MOS tour is hitting Viva? That sounds REALLY interesting.

Posted by dEsidEL on Jul-20-2002 06:38:
