Making the Perfect Margarita

I've got a party coming up and I'll be making Margaritas. I checked my liquor cabinet and I have Grand Marnier but no Cointreau. Can I substitute? I'm also out of tequila. Any recommendations? Is it a waste to use top notch stuff in a margarita? I'm thinking $20-30 price range.

I've never heard of putting Grand Marnier in a margarita before

You don't have to use Cointreau, you can use Triple Sec instead.

i don't care for the salt but i should get it everyone else. I do have koshure sea salt for cooking maybe i'll use that.

oh yeah i had one other question. i don't like margaritas too strong, is there any way to put less alcohol without hurting the taste?

Good point. I don't really know why he's putting on this facade about "margaritas", we all know by the end of the day it'll just be roofie coladas with crazy straws in them.

Gran Marnier float makes a Cadillac margarita.

Nobody was talking about floating, now were they?

That kind of thing is obviously WAY beyond IGK's level of drink mixing
