Mom friendly things to do in the T-Dot
I'm sure there is a thread like this...but I'm lazy today...sorry TA!
My mom and I are coming up to Toronto Saturday afternoon and staying till Monday. I am looking for fun/interesting things to do with her. She's like this should be no problem for you since you've been there a million times. Little does she know these million times included The Guv, Footwork, Comfort Zone, and boat cruises. lol.
We are def thinking about doing the King Tut exhibit and for dinner Saturday night I'm taking her to Nathan Barato's restaurant.
Any suggestions on shopping areas would be great too!
Thanks!
definitely queen street (@ spadina) for shopping...
yorkville
eaton center
chinamon, i am shocked an appalled that you held back
- Bata Shoe Museum for some shoes
- Queen west shopping and dinner date (I'd go there as opposed to Eaton, if the weather permits)
- Yorkville has the same stores anyway (plus high end ones if you have $$ to spend)
- ROM still has the Dead Sea scrolls exhibit I think?
- Kensington Market
- Harbourfront (is there anything going on except skating?)

My mom really likes the distillery district - its better in the summer, but all the shops are open in the winter. Don't forget to visit soma chocolate
Thanks guys.
Yeah I've been to Nathan's rest before with Ace but just for drinks. Very excited eat there.
We were going to stay at Le Royal Meridien King Edward because I've stayed there once before and the location was great. But seems like I could find something cheaper in that area. Any suggestions on hotels?
plz post pic of your mom, and I'll decide

yes to Pantages and Cosmopolitan for hotel options
shopping: Queen West, Yorkville
kensington, distillery, st lawrence market, cn tower, check out at least one of the musicals, galleries on queen st, imax at the science centre, reservoir lounge for some sick ass jazz
Thanks for the hotel suggestions. I'll let my mom know and she can decide. I'm not usually too picky about hotels. As long its not The Waverly lol.
My Dad is meeting us up there Sunday evening because they got tickets to go to the Eric Clapton concert. Apparently they forgot to buy me a ticket too. No biggie...can always visit friends. I'm thinking a Zone adventure is in order. Anyone going Sunday??

Sunday brunch at The Drake...
I'm with you tho, all my trips to Toronto in the past few years have either been rave or wedding related, so not much time to look around.
