How do i filter out all the event threads?

All of these event threads with [CFL] or [WMC] get in the way of normal threads. like this one:

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...3&forumid=43&s=

i almost missed this discussion because i thought it was yet another event thread. if i can turn off all the [SFL], [WMC], [CFL], etc threads from displaying in the main section that would be so much better.

right now it looks like messy confusing crap! but hey thats just me whatever the majority wants so be it, but is there an option at least?

yea i dont like it either. i only have it on to see what event threads get updated.

but here:
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...d=43&noevents=1

and the way to change it back again is by clicking the little link that says "Hide event threads within this forum" or "Show event threads within this forum" right above the threads list all the way on the right. its a small font size so its a little hard to find.

just out of curiosity...

Were you not one of the ones who didn't mind having all events in the main forum & now you want them filtered out?
I find that hilarious!

no i was the one that not only does not mind, but encourages the small guys to advertise their "crappy little events that no one goes to" in the main forum, rather than be forced to hide them away in a giant thread. me and a couple others have said it and ill say it again, 8up.com knows the right way to do it. seriously. hate to bring up a "competitor" but do me a favor and just go over there and come back here and tell me that isn't easier to read and better organized. subforums > [area] appended to thread titles.

the events were never being hidden away in a giant thread. all events are listed equally in that thread. theres no bias what so ever. and its all organized nice and neatly in the first post. something 8up does not have. events are only organized by location. we here (well ben) take the time to type everything up neatly and organize everything chronologically.

the only thing some of us were frustrated with was the spamming of these events by creating threads where no one even replied. but even now we have a place where any event can have its own thread. http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...?s=&forumid=109

but if you like 8up, then cool. enjoy.

awesome!! Thanks, for real. I had basically stopped looking at anything besides the WMC events thread.

8 up was cool when I was a sophmore in high school

TA is for classier/grown folks. Don't like it here - then you can keep your 8up.

8up is for raves. TA is a few steps above that

edit - wow i have been a member there since 2004.. i just posted to see when. But I only made 1 other post - for a rave lol - since then. 2 now.

haha, wow, i didnt know that site was still around. I used to have book marked rave.8up.com . If it were not for that site I would have never known about my first Paul Van Dyk show @ the old space December 2002. I saw it around 11am that morning in North Carolina, got in the car and drove to Miami my first time. Took 11 hours but was very well worth it.

not anymore. its pretty much the same type of events listed as here, but seems like more of the local smaller guys that throw events are posted there (like the ravier stuff).

what does being short have to do with anything?

So keep posting there - I checked it out. There's a whole 1 or 2 replies on some of the "popular" events.

If I want to suck on a pacifier - i'll be sure to check 8up out
