Question Mulholland Drive Movie Help!

I just watched Mulholland Drive: great movie, but I'm still so confused. If someone who has seen the movie many times and understands it would please post what they know about the movie (the blue box (and key), the lampshade, what really happened, the man behind the restaurant, the cowboy, etc) I would really appreciate it. My head hurts

Explains almost everything. I had to read the article twice though. It makes a lot more sense now though.

The reason it gets incredibly complex is that Lynch has a somewhat annoying habit of mixing in side storylines that don't connect to the main one (i.e. The director being forced to cast a certain actress).

Great movie though. Depressing. Awesome lesbian scenes though.

My friends a big Lynch fan so I watched it but I do like triped out movies. I thought it was real fucking messed though and i'm not good a figuring out what's going on eithier. Rent Lost Highway and tell me what you think of that. It's another Lynch film.

Mulholland Drive is so fucking confusing. In that good kind of way, of course. Brilliant movie.
I've just finished watching Lost Highway... Now that movie is going to take me a long time to figure out.
Tomorrow I'm going to watch Eraserhead...

I was lucky enough to catch Mulholland while it was in the cinema...what a trip

I still prefer earlier Lynch stuff like Lost Highway and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me but Mulholland was definitely quality stuff

anybody ever seen the movie crash? the one where people get turned on by automobile accidents and like disabled people? i think its a david kronenberg movie.... that one is strange also, not quite as weird as lynch but pretty odd in any case...

Mulholland Drive... what a fucking confusing movie. The only time I saw it I was at a friends house, and his mom had rented it on I-control (its a digital cable program where you can remotoely rent and view movies with the full control of a VCR or DVD). So she asked us (there were about 15 of us at the time) if we wanted to watch the movie, and we said "nah", but then she said "there's girl love", i.e. lesiban sex, and we all changed our minds. So we started it over, and she left the room. A few minutes into the movie, some of the main characters eat at this place called Wieniers. Well, if you know my friends, this sparked a long series of wieniers jokes that lasted through half of the movie, until we gave up and started fast forwarding looking for "nekked". It was hilarious, great fun, but after fast forwarding all the way to the end we were all completely totally confused.

In short, I woudl recomend this movie to anyone who wants to make immature wieniers jokes and watch lesbian sex, but other than that, its useless. Or perhaps I should give it another run.

Lets just say that some actors play several different roles at same time.

Posted by whiskers on Nov-08-2003 06:13:

all right, this is totally killing me, does that scary guy from the beginning show up anywhere else in the movie? someone tell me before i go bananas, i expect him to pop up everywhere, even from a purse or something... stupid paranoia.

Posted by astroboy on Nov-08-2003 06:23:

Yeah they show him again but he's not as scary, just a random homeless guy.
