Thumbs up IL Drumaxx Released - $13!

Image Line has just released its new drum synthesizer Drumaxx. For a limited time you can pay what you think it's worth (min. $13) and $1 from each sale goes to help earthquake victims in Haiti.

Is it good?

I haven't used it, but it sure specs out nicely, looks good, and is only $13.

Yeah, no kidding. I have zero need for another drum plugin, but for $13 and a small contribution to Haiti, it's a no-brainer IMO. I'm sure it will find its way into some tracks.

For a company that gets little respect, Image Line sure are kicking some serious industry ass with some of their new synths - Harmless is pretty awesome and many of us got it during their initial "pay-what-you-want" promo for as little as $9.

Agreed

As I mentioned in another forum, IL are building up a nice little selection of treasures.

I must get back into demo'ing Vocodex properly.

I got it yesterday. For $13 you can't complain but the sounds are not that good. Tweaking the kicks is a bit wierd and unintuative.
If you make a chnage the fuka does'nt remember it unless you save and what not which is not what I want when scrolling thru and making tweaks in a project.

A lot of cheesey claps and snares, but ok if you want some basic electro sounds.

Yeah, I agree 100%. I played around with it last night for a while. The factory kits are pretty dorky sounding, but it didn't take much tweaking to get some wild analogish/resonant/squelchy kicks going. The step sequencer is a nice addition. I definitely wouldn't recommend it as a primary drum plugin, but for adding some electro sounds, it's pretty neat. It covers sounds that most sample-based drum plugins (e.g., Battery 3) don't. I imagine that if you ran this through some external plugin FX (e.g., OhmBoyz, Ohmicide, FilterBank) you could get some very hard-hitting grooves going.

I dunno you guys. The kick in Dance09 with the low freq set to about 42-43% is $13 worth alone imo

i must say this has been the best 13 bucks i've spent in recent history !
