What to expect from a bunch of hillbillies?

Posted by gazelles on Feb-26-2010 01:05:

i love people that taunt like they had an any impact on a sporting event

its just as sad as people that say "we won" when talking about "their" team

its hockey, and you didnt even play.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Feb-26-2010 01:08:

that is only one video

don't act like the rest of the world doesn't think the same thing.

absolutely poor sportsmanship.. but this was on granville st. was it not? and there are always people who 'booo' and shit during games. big deal.

Posted by igottaknow on Feb-26-2010 02:44:

I actually felt bad for Canada when we beat them in hockey, because its one of our least popular sports and means so much to them.

Posted by r5a on Feb-26-2010 02:53:

we played like shit, totally disorganized (probably hungover) brodeur was retarded. what did you expect? when we finally realized what happen it was way too late. gg'd

also miller is a god.

edit: i know nothing about hockey, i just watched the game.

Posted by igottaknow on Feb-26-2010 02:59:

Miller is one of the few players I know and I'm happy for him. I first saw him when he played for the Rochester Americans then when he moved up to the Sabers. I didn't think it was possible to replace Hasek, but they lucked out getting Miller.

you're an idiot if you think the fans don't have an effect on the outcome of a sporting event.

have you ever watched a sporting event in your life?

As for them doing that chant I think it's pathetic A perfect example Canada's insecurity.

Posted by igottaknow on Feb-26-2010 03:18:

He makes a valid point that I share. It's one thing to support your team but a lot of ppl take things too far and try to latch on the success of "their" team to make them feel better about themselves.

I'm turned off by the whole Olympic metal watch and I'm on the winning side. Sadly the Olympics do more to divide ppl and their respective countries than bring together. There's no secret that large countries who have the money to pour into training programs hold a big advantage. At the end of the day I'm not sure what it's suppose to prove anyway.

yeah quite a few. Sure, my money brings in better players and my drunken screaming may fire up the players, but at the end of the day:

i didnt hit that buzzer beater
i didnt pull in that pick 6
i didnt strike out that slugger
i didnt make that slapshot goal

therefore, i dont have the right to taunt or call it MY team

???

Maybe to people who see fans of a rival team as their own rivals. But those are the same guys who will walk out after the game and find a reason to pick a fight with the same people they were cheering along side just a few minutes ago. Intelligent people know better.

we will avenge our lost against USA this sunday for gold.

Posted by Lilith on Feb-26-2010 06:30:

That's a bit rough, normally the Americans have to bomb someone's country and destabilise and entire region before they'll start that chant.

Posted by Sushipunk on Feb-26-2010 06:32:

Are we sure that it's American hate we're seeing? I thought maybe the Mexicans had moved north.

"Fuck you, esse"

Posted by Lilith on Feb-26-2010 06:33:

Canadian's are kind of like Arctic Mexicans Sushi, except with better health care.

Good job!
Makes up for the 12 million prescriptions annually filled in Canadian pharmacies by US citizens to the sum of about $700 million a year.

First off, it was a Provincial Premier (similar to a Governor in the U.S) who did that.

Second, the procedure is a common one, and often performed by the surgeons in his province successfully. However, like anyone that can afford the very best, they are apt to pay for it no matter how small the actual increased margin of success they think they have bought.

He is lucky to be a rich and successful man so that he can purchase such an advantage. I am sure every American enjoys the same quality of care as our Premier currently is paying for in the mighty U.S of A.

No? Well then surely they can obtain the slightly lesser version of care afforded the average Canadian @ a similar cost.
