oooooooo breakbeat!!!!
breakbeatz quality~! hehe.. well Hybrid are probably my fav act ... lol
and yea.. just list ANY hybrid track.. and there ya go..
i think
Rabbit in the Moon is considered to be Miami breakbeat.. but i ain't too sure..
then ya got the dispute between breakbeat / dnb / jungle.. and the classification of each genre..
but i guess some breakbeat includes
DJ Icey (as aforementioned)
tracks such as Bass Electrix, The One, Top Rock, Sanctuary, Blue Chips, etc etc..
Stanton Warriors?
JDS : Destiny Calls, Nine Ways
Adam Freeland
Deejay Punk-roc
some BT stuff: Smartbomb, Fibonacci Sequence...
Freestylers
Koma & Bones (who did a remix for the classic God Within by Scott Hardkiss)
Rennie Pilgrim (renaissance guru)
General Midi (quality)
some Way Out West stuff is breakbeaty.. : Activity, Redemption, Ajare.....
Animated - Wired (on deviant mate.. hehe if ya like Ashtrax, i think u will like this one)
hmmmmmmmm thats all i can think of right now
BUT.. hybrid will alwayz rule nuskool breakz!!
adding to the list...
here's some more:
elektronauts - bumper [plump dj's vocal mix]
freq nasty - boomin back atcha [hybrid mix]
future sound of london - papa new guinea [hybrid mix]
jez & choopie - yim [hybrid's sunrise mix] see the pattern??
god within - raincry [koma & bones mix]
kosheen - catch [way out west mix]
way out west - the gift
lost tribe - distant voices e.p. [angel edit]
mike koglin - the silence [tekara's mix]
natalie imbruglia - smoke [way out west mix]
stakker - humanoid 2001 [krafty kutz mix]
...and of course
ashtrax - helsinki
there ya go!
Lexi
Have you guys heard Hybrid Galaxy mix? That's really nice compilation of jazzy breaks.
And, tu_face, I would also recommend you to listen to Adam Freeland MOS session. That's a kick ass set.
Cheers for the tips doodz
ive always considered nick warren to be prog only.. ive found a few way out west remixes n stuff which is quality breaks... madness, but my fave one i found so far is sorta break/trance... Ultraviolet - Heaven (Way Out West Mix).. fuckin quality
As i said i aint noe expert on BB, so err i guess the stuff i like is kinda nu skool stuff with trancy elements in it
i like the general midi/ashtrax stuff best
Cheerz again
Whoa!.. I loved all the tunes you guys mentioned..

I want to bring this thread back from the dead..
C'mon guys.. Breaks need some more exposure!
Has anyone checked out:
Adam Freeland's remix of Planet Funk - Chase the Sun ?
It's so wicked man..
Hey Jeff...and everybody else.
I am also a big fan of pretty much any type of electronic music starting from trance to breakbeats, drum'n'bass and ofcourse one of the breakbeat roots are The Prodigy!
Opps sorry back to the topic, I'd recommend to you anything by Plump DJ's (they float around the UK a lot doing gigz right now) and I personally think that they produce the best break beat tunez nowadays!
I uploaded one of there best songs to a locker please let me know what u thought.

[email protected]/plump, and please don't forget to sign out.
Peace.
check this out.. found it yesterday
pob - boiler (humate mix)... its mad, its a kinda blend of what humate have been renowned for for so many years, with a sweet breakbeat style backin to the beat...
me likes
ooh and av a look for mad dogs - better make room (original mix).. its quite old now but i got it the other day. the james holden remix is obviously 1st class but this aint bad
peace
Hybrid is not nu skool, they are progressive breaks with trance elements...
For nu school, look for tom middleton sets.
Adam Freeland is the wizard, after all, he coined the term.
Please dear god people, try and stay away from gay-ass miami big-beat break crap. This is the two-dollar whore of the breaks genre. Go funky, go nu skool, go trancey, but stay away from Baby Anne and her moronic music at all costs!!!
Other artists/DJs:
-Tayo
-B.L.I.M.
-Rennie Pilgrim (he and blim just released a track called yellow something, it's on the emerson GU I think)
-Darren Chapman
-DJ Hyper
-Anyone on the Distinctive label basically
-Uberzone
-Shuri-kan
Tracks:
Soul Electric & EQ-
4 U (2 Sinners mixes)
Apex-
Symmetry
Sensei-
I'm the Only One
Ollywood & Mr. Reload-
Mek Microphone / Evil Pimp
Sasha and Digweed - Northern Exposure 2 is kinda breakbeatish :P
If u wanna hear some solid breakbeats get The Prodigy - Experience. (the album) It was released back in year 1992 and u won't be disappointed cuzz it's the best breakbeat/jundgle album out there.
Is Chemical Brothers - Music Response considered Breakbeat?
i dunno how many people have heard this but it's a fairly good break remix of Better Off Alone.
Bass Junkies - Better Off With Da Kid
Funky House/Breakbeat styles
Some of my fave breakbeats dj's are from LA
Simply Jeff
Neosoul
I think their funky house/breakbeats style is the shit.
Adam Freeland and Tayo are also some of my faves
Stakker Humanoid - Humanoid
I've said that once but I'll remind you for the 2nd time!
Check out Plump djs!! U will like'em for sure! Especially get their tune called Plump djs night out.
Ah, breakbeats n trance, has to be the greatest combination since bread n butter!
any good breakbeat songs w/ vocals in them? thanks
The only good track I know that has vocals is the break version of Tekara - Breathe in you.
Chris fortier played it on hie Emmissions CD. Good chill tracks.
Sorry I'm no help, BB is not my specialty.
