Djs for this months installment:-
One of our ditinguished guests this month - one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and loves his tunes like nobodies business - also happens to be his birthday:-
OLIVES

A strong fan of the undergroud scene Olives has involved himself with electronic music since he was 16.
His love for electronic music came about almost by accident. As a teenage punk-wannabe he decided he wanted to start a weekly radio show in Echuca and was told 'Any genre is fine, just not punk'. Eventually the very vague term 'Electronic music' was agreed upon, allowing him to explore and fall in love with techno, progressive house, minimal, tribal, psy-trance, house dnb etc.
This passion for music was briefly confused with a passion for Broadcasting but after moving to Melbourne to study Commercial Radio and the lecturer opening the course with "If you're here because you love music, there's the door..." Olives felt lost.
After a year or two making mixes for friends (using Radio production software) he got the smallest decks and mixer he could find and played at every opportunity: friends birthdays, new-years mansion parties, kitchen raves and backyard parties. One of the 'backyard parties' evolved into regular club night The Clarity and Olives supported some of his underground heroes in Kasey Taylor, Jamie Stevens, Gavin Keitel, Rollin Connection, PQM, Luke Chable, Ozzy La and played with some of Melbournes most respected up-&-comers including Dave Juric, Xitation, Phil Moore, Alam and Jules PLees.
Other influences include Oliver Huntemann, Phil K, John Tejada, Dnox & Beckers, John Selway, Layo & Bushwacka, Gui Boratto, Pig & Dan, Gabriel Ananda, Umek, Format B, Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, and Kraftwerk.

cant wait to have olives on again - always brings fun, a ton of enthuisiasm and wikkid tunes!
And now one of our trusty favourite residents -
Xitation

XiTatiON aka Jonathan Morcom, a relativity new name doing the round of melbtown playing his own blend of Progressive/Psy/Techno.
Xi isn't new to the club scene in Melbourne having spent many nights in dark, loud underground clubs listening to some of the best progressive/techno and psychedelic sounds the world has to offer.* Only in the past two year or so has Xi managed to be involved in some relativity new nights in Melbourne named "The Clarity" and Loose which has enabled him to start playing music out in clubs, making the transition from bashing out sounds at home (much to his Neighbours disgust) to now having resident gigs at The Clarity and Loose partys. In this time Xi has had the opportunity to play with some of his favourite Melbourne underground DJs including Simon Slieker, Gavin Keitel, Rollin Connection, PQM, Jamie Stevens, Ozzie LA and Jono Fernandez as well as also playing alongside Pole Folder last year.
In an Inpress DJ Booth interview Xi was asked "In a nutshell, describe what you play..." his response was "munty progressive tracks" which perfectly sums up the sound you are likely to hear him playing.
When asked what type of music is his favourite he responded "I love all electronic music, but progressive is my home or safe place that you can always come back to, after taking an adventure over to the Techno or Tech House or Psytance side for a while."* Having grown up loving the sounds of Hybrid, James Zabiela, Vibrasphere, Neelix, Nubreed, Infusion, Crystal Method and Danny Howells to name some of his favourites, his taste of music is very broad.* This shows in all of Xi's gigs, he always tries to blend the elements from all these genres to create his own unique munty sound.
Keep your eye out for XiTatiON, often found out and about around Melbourne clubs/pubs and bars.
"Come say hi I don't bite, much... :P"
Xitation has just recently had a slot on JJJ's saturday overnight show - needless to say - it was Rockin
Another bio
JulesPLees

During the early naughties JulesPLees witnessed 3 seminal sets by Carl Cox, Christopher Lawrence and John 00 Fleming that conviced him to buy decks. A self taught dj that got a break at r00m680 PLaying uPLifting and progressive trance. He went on at various nights including Volume, Interview, Obsession and events like Godskitchen, Gatecrasher and Slinky to support (warmups and wrapups) for the likes of Nick Warren, Tiesto, Andy Moore and John 00 Fleming among others.
After an 18 month hiatus that included a release on 405 recording with WaveMotion he returned to the scene back at square one with the Loose nights that he co-ran with DJ Citrus. He is now back with another night at MyAeon - LockNLoad - and also tinkering in his own little studio and working with Wavemotion once again.
With many many influences over the years - Jules' style has gone in many many directions over the journey but has finally settled on a crossover smooth progressive/techno/trance/psy style that can be slamming or groovy depending on his mood and the circumstances. He is capable of DJing in the 3 major formats - Vinyl, CDJ's and Ableton.
So get on down to check a set soon - bring your hiking boots - its going to be quite the journey.
LOKI

Throughout Norse history and mythology, Loki is recognized as the god of mischief - a deviant trickster! This is a very fitting similarity to the themes, styles and energy received at every Loki DJ performance.
Loki has rapidly established a presence in the Australian scene with his excitability, versatility and creativity behind the decks. Mastering everything from minimal, tech-house, progressive, techno and psy-trance, regularly combining them all in a single performance to show the masses how deep the rabbit hole really goes! With many residencies, overseas shows, guest spots, and radio appearances, Loki has quickly transformed into something more distinctive, separating him from the rest!
Generally supplying a fusion of techno, progressive and psychedelica, Loki's sound can be anything from deep, dark and twisted, to an uplifting, funky, tribal groove unlike any other! Every performance taking the audience on a journey, aboard a rollercoaster through his mind!
Loki has been found headlining arenas in Malaysia & Thailand, in addition to gracing stages all around Australia, supporting internationals and locals alike. Having shared the stage with international artists such as The Organ Donors, Walt, Showtek, Pila, The Scientist, Trevor McLachlan and many more. Regularly performing on the same stages as the likes of Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Infected Mushroom, Laurent Garnier, Funk DVoid, Stanton Warriors, Slam, Fergie, Joris Voorn, Pendulum, D-Nox, Krafty Kuts, Carl Cox and countless others. Showing the level of excellence that is guaranteed with every Loki performance.
Loki is also the power that drives "Unstable Sounds", one of Melbourne's finest techno, progressive & psychedelic crews. Operating in many clubs & festivals with over 50 of Australia's biggest and best DJ's at its disposal.
If Lokis playing at a venue near you, youre in for one hell of a night! Devastation guaranteed!
Chris Meehan
aka Gooseboy

After more than a decade working in the dance music scene there isnt a lot Chris Meehan hasnt done.
Starting out as a resident at some of Melbournes most influential and successful club nights ( Qbar Sundays, Republic @ rOOm 680), supporting all major international guests (Sasha, Digweed, Satoshi, Hernan, Seamen and Nick Warren) and representing brands such as global Underground and Renaissance whenever in town, Chris is well respected by his peers and punters and recognised as a complete Dj.
Abroad, Chris has toured extensively, visiting countries like Portugal, Sweden, Turkey, Germany and Mexico. Passion for music has driven Chris to produce original works and remixes and take a hands on approach to running his own record labels.
A willing student to people like Sean Quinn and Kasey Taylor, it was these early collaborations that set Chris on his path. A co-director of Vapour Recordings and several original works with Kasey Taylor drew the interest of many within the worlds dance music community and rmx work for such labels a s SOG (Holland), Baroque (UK) and EQ (Aus) followed.
After a period away from dance music, Chris returned with The Black Sheep recordings and released several eps of original works that earnt him strong support from around the globe and put his name back at the top end of charts and playlists the world over.
Original works by Chris have more recently seen release through such labels as Avante Garde (Arg) and Baroque (Uk) and featured on compilations such as Matt Rowans Baroque Records release and the Kiss my Grass compilation by Kissfm in his hometown Melbourne.
Moving from his Proton radio show to take up a weekly spot with Kissfm, his show The Lost Boys with Friend Gus Cullen has a solid and loyal listener base. Currently producing orignal work and remixes Chris remains a passionate contributer to the dance music scene.
