not really sure why this has anything to do with communism (I guess it's supposed to make this thread more interesting), but that is indeed a shameful display. From her contemptuous Bill O'Reilly-like interruptions to going back and forth with people in attendance at the end, she ought to be embarrassed at her behaviour (and I'm sure she is not).

I imagine that most of us would not get away with that type of behaviour in our place of employment, particularly when dealing with the public or our clients (as a taxpayer, that guy, regardless of his position/input, is a CLIENT). We'd be reprimanded, if not fired. But that's another 'day at the office' for a childish city councillor...

you REALLY need to have just one thread dedicated to random, non discussion political news items for yourself rather than started a new thread each time someone in parliament so much as farts wrong

Why do some people even bother to open up, read and respond to a thread that is well advertised as to the topic?

As for communist, it has everything to do with this.

1) communism is all about redistribution of wealth. That is its cornerstone. And questioning this is essentially what got this councillor in a huff.

2) Communists tend to hate discussion and loathe dissent... exhibit A

3) Right away when i saw her tirade it reminded me of Soviet Unions Nikita Kruhschev and his shoe banging tirade when he was critisized.

It's not just with this topic mind you hence the 'you tube' and shit threads etc where EVERYTHING about that topic gets put into that specific thread. I say you follow suit...anyone that still wants to respond can do so.

Dude discussing politics is NOT the same as discussing music in a MUSIC FORUM. Hence those other topics belong in larger 'themed only' threads that fit. Doing that with music in a music forum is just silly.

Doing it with Politics, youtube, ads (like the ad thread) etc makes sense so DO IT.

Same with the pic threads, the event threads etc. They are ALL in each of their respective threads.

Incude your political ideas/rants/venting in that one huge thread and bump it accordingly.

I don't see the big deal in merging all your political ideas in ONE thread. Such is done in any previous idea that keeps coming up constantly (as I had already mentioned).

Sorry that not everyone is drinking your kool-aid anymore and that you are being challenged more often to qualify your statements as more than just partisan babble.

Why not lay out your views in a better way and try to appeal to thinkers rather than going politically emo? Why not argue the merits of specific issues themselves rather than playing this tired LEFT VERSUS RIGHT game?

You often have a good point on a particular issue, but you present yourself like something out of the cheesiest tabloids. You polarize people, but to what end? Is that your goal? Either a) dont open the thread

or b) engage in dialogue if you happen to agree/disagree/somewhat
agree/somewhat disagree ...etc

As for topics, you are right, i can write a good headline. I make no bones about how i feel about a topic. I know where i stand and I am very assertive about it. And i happen to respect those on the other end of the spectrum with the same passion for challenging or supporting things that affect them as well.

I dont apologize for my hard stance on topics, for expressing my likes and dislikes nor do i apologize for the way i present them.

In the past as well as now (with exception to thread whiners) they have produced a lot of thought provoking debate on both sides which is why i continue to bring topics to this forum. Im not always right, im not always wrong. But i do have a very strong opinion which i will continue to share. And i love reading strong opinions as well on the opposite end as well. i consider every one of them and learn from them and about how others think even if i may not share the same conclusions with them.

The debates can get pretty intense and i think a lot of people enjoy them as long as it doesnt get personal.

Dude, present your ideas in a way that others do with TA etiquette/ie the unwritten RULES OF THE FORUM.

If I constantly posted youtube videos all the time about stupid shit that I find funny, I'd get bitched at as to why it's not in the "youtube and shit" thread. All I'm saying and others as well is put your ideas in a TOTA politics thread the same way any iPhone ideas are in the iphone thread, or blackberry thread or fucking tv thread.

You guys have to understand the nature of webforums.

Through natural processes, threads either survive and sit at the top and rack up tons of responses. OR if there is no interest in the subject it sinks down to the bottom and is forgotten.

Everytime someone decides to bitch and moan, they inadvertently bump the thread. Why the fuck cant people understand this concept.

Also who says this forum is about only music? A quick glance shows a plurality of different topics. The reason I check this forum is to see something new and interesting. Hell, if we're gonna purge this forum of ridiculous threads, lets please start with the Jersey Shore thread.

I dont think Jay oversteps his boundaries. His bias is clear, but who isnt biased? Discuss or dont discuss. Thats all there is to it.
