Enhanced Podcast - How to include message?

Hi there. I recently subscribed to the Trance Around The World podcast via the iTunes Music Store and when I was listening to episode #310 on my iPhone I tapped on the screen to fast forward and noticed that when I did that a message comes up in the podcast (screenshot located here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21652493@N06/4425049805/).

How can I make this kind of message in my enhanced podcasts in GarageBand?

First time I'm ever seeing this!

What's a good place to learn of all the enhanced podcast options that are available out there?

Cheers,
Keith

I made a video tutorial on how to make enhanced podcasts with Garageband a while back. Seeing as how I can't embed the video, click the following link: http://thedjpodcast.com/episodes/episode-003/

Cheers Polt, will check it out! I've already made enhanced podcasts in GarageBand but I'm specifically looking how to do that message thing I posted a screenshot of above.

Cheers,
Keith

I assume that the text you see is just the text entered in Garageband and formatted in such a way for iPhone display. I don't have an iPhone, so I can't test it, but if you have one, I'd see if a podcast file you create shows up that way.

I have and it doesn't.... Not sure if GarageBand allows a user to do this? Is there a list of enhanced podcast options anywhere?

FYI my podcasts can be found at www.auralpleasuresmusic.com to see what I've done.

I just checked out one of your podcast episodes. Honestly, I'm not sure where the iPhone is grabbing that text from. It's probably pulling it from the metadata of the file.

cheers Polt, i appreciate the effort

No problem. Seeing as how I don't have an iPhone, I too am curious how this works. It must be pulling the text from metadata - the question is, what field? Considering that it could be some itunes/quicktime specific field, it could be anything really.

If you figure it out, let me know.

I dunno anything about podcasts, but if you add lyrics to your normal tunes on iTunes they show up like that on the screen once you tap it, so maybe you should try adding the text in the lyrics field if there is one on the podcast file.

Good to know, thanks Skip! Will give it a shot tonight and report back.

I just downloaded that particular podcast and it looks like that text is on the COMMENTS part of the tags.

I'm surprised they didn't do chapters with the podcast. Chapters kick ass!

Skip you were correct mate, thank you. Just did it for my latest podcast.

Check it out at www.auralpleasuresmusic.com (episode 013).

I'm glad this worked. I'll have to try it out with my own podcast.
