Trace Hazen - Paradigm Shift [Deep House/Space Disco]

Tracklist:
1. No Regular Play - Blonde Juan (Cover of Ada - Cool My Fire) [Wolf + Lamb]
2. Marcel Wave - Kiwi Sunrise [Airdrop Records]
3. Adam Freeland - Bring It (Marc Romboy Remix) [Marine Parade]
4. Birds & Souls - Birds & Souls [Spectral Sound]
5. Lee Curtis - Sister [Get Physical Music]
6. Prompt - Addiction [Highgrade Records]
7. Tam Cooper, Will Saul - In & Out [Simple Records]
8. Danny Howells - Laid Out (Tom Budden's Alive Remix) [Dig Deeper]
9. Josh Wink - Dolphin Smack (Martin Buttrich Remix) [Ovum]
10. Rekzar - Above The Clouds (Mystery Boy Edit & John Daly Beats) [Running Back]
11. Michael Cassette - Kilimanjaro [Anjunadeep]
12. Omid 16b - Same As You (Club Dub) [SexOnWaxRecords]
13. Mano Le Tough - Eurodancer (Tensnake Remix) [Mirau Musik]

So this mix is obviously a complete departure from anything I've done recently. Since its starting to thaw out a bit and WMC is almost here, I figured I would do a mix to reflect that sort of vibe. There's lots of funky, melodic, and summery tracks in here...some of them are pretty old, but this was largely done for fun and to spread my wings a bit. Hope you guys enjoy.

Length: 70:41
Size: 161.9 MB
Bitrate: 320 kbps
Mixed in Traktor/2 decks

cool mix brah.
surprised to hear Kilimanjaro in there and really liked Same As You, which I'm surprised I've never heard before.

I started listening to this while playing FFXIII cause... I had to.

Haha yeah, that was a last minute decision...there was actually quite a bit of Anjunadeep stuff that would have fit well, Michael Cassette is soliddd.

Checking it!

This looks really good man, will download right now. Great choice for an opener.

'Same As You' was one of my favorite tracks from last year but I never managed to make it fit into any of my sets.

I Really Enjoyed The Deep Groovy Feel This Gave Me, Probably One Of You're Best Mixes Yet.

I wanna watch this mix menstruate.

Really enjoyed this man. Sweet melodies all around and I just really loved the music! Going to give this another go sometime in the next few days. Mixing felt a little loose but I didn't mind that in any way at all. Nice one!

picking this up man, i've been long overdue to hear a mix of yours

Posted by woscar on Mar-17-2010 17:36:

I listened last night and I highly enjoyed.

Even though you said this was a totally different style, it didn't feel entirely different than what you have done in the past because you managed to infuse some of that dark feel of previous work into it. Specially during the first half, which was the best part of the mix for me. It had a Seth Troxler-ish kinda feel to it.

Nice work man, keep spreading those wings.

Thanks for the listens/reviews guys. I'm glad this went over well, wasn't sure how people would take this.

I agree with Woscar Trace, definitely a bit of a new direction but with that same type of sound your mixes seem to have. I think this is a good thing, as good DJs generally have their particular "texture" throughout mixes. I really enjoyed how this set built up, nice and smooth intro and then onto some more bangin material. Lots of surprises along the way, and the mixing worked well.

Overall another great mix man, keep it up.

This mix, from the track selection (Dolphin Smack! Same As You!), and the name/cover art used, couldn't possibly be MORE up my alley. Will have to d/l when I get home.

Still haven't beaten FF13 yet tho. Will make good background music as I build up my Crystarium.

Thanks mayne. Its funny because that's not the way I intended it at all, I guess it was kind of a subconscious thing. But everyone says that's a good thing, so I'll go with it and try to build on that sound.

I have to say...FF13 is better than I expected. Music is great too, probably one of the best non-Nobuo soundtracks, so you might not even need background music.

that birds & souls track is amazing!!! Will listen to this later on

Really nice set, but honestly i prefered the Rogues sound much more

Very nice mix. The Birds & Souls, Marcel Wave tracks were mind blowing. Liked the fact you through in a house track too near the beginning.

I don't listen to mixes often, but I enjoyed this one a lot.
