Too many plug-ins syndrome

Glancing through Live recently, I noticed that I had a crapload of plug-ins, but most of them barely got any use. I hate it when things feel cluttered, so I deleted a ton of them and left the fifteen or so I really like. Now they all fit nicely on the screen without scrolling and I feel better.

Anyone else gone through this before?

i only have bought one or two (or three) VSTs. after reinstalling my system i didnt even bother installing them again. internal stuff wtf.

Yes, i only use a handful of synths and effects now.

Posted by evo8 on Mar-17-2010 13:45:

Yep - i think we've all been there

Yeah, I've always had the approach of less is more. But I'm starting to swing back the other way now too. I think theres some great stuff out there at the moment, and to be honest I've got GAS.

I know a couple of well known producers who feel a similar way too.

In spite of this thread I've got my eyes on Fabfilter's Volcano filter plug-in. I had the demo and greatly enjoyed it, but it expired months ago and since then I've wanted to buy the full version.

These days I find myself less excited about new synth plugs than about effects.

i have the fabfilter 2 combo and i dont use it, maybe the license can be transfered somehow.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Mar-17-2010 15:41:

What do you mean by "combo?" The effects bundle?

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Mar-17-2010 15:43:

Seems they do allow license transfers:

Yes, I'm interested.

Did you get a separate license for each plug or just one license for the whole bundle?

Posted by Zak McKracken on Mar-17-2010 16:07:

one for all

its FF Timeless 2 (fx), Volcano 2 (fx), Twin 2 (synth) in the bundle.

i also have PSP Nitro (crazy filter).

and reaktor 5.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Mar-17-2010 16:10:

Okay.

Will you just give it to me, or are you going to charge?

Posted by Zak McKracken on Mar-17-2010 16:15:

if u buy my reaktor 5 license (if possible) u get them others for free (look previous edited post). paypal prefered

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Mar-17-2010 16:17:

Well, I already have Nitro and Reaktor, so if I have to buy those as well I guess it is no go.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Mar-17-2010 16:22:

lol fuck. i dont think that bundle was very expensive. ill google my mail and look for what i payd.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Mar-17-2010 16:27:

fuck that was more expensive than i thought.
i paid 99 EUR for reaktor to compare.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Mar-17-2010 16:30:

Well, I will pay you for the Fabfilter bundle, but I'm not interested in the other stuff.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Mar-17-2010 16:53:

how much u wanna pay?

http://www.fabfilter.com/shop/?article=49

it cost 319USD

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Mar-17-2010 16:59:

$120? I get it for less than half price and you make a little profit, given what you paid for it.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Mar-17-2010 17:02:

seems about right, let me think about it for a second.

btw the license transfer costs 10EUR. do you have an account with them? it seems easiest if uve already registered there.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Mar-17-2010 17:08:

I don't have an account. I probably have to buy something from them to get one, right?

give me your email and maybe u can get a plug for free.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Mar-17-2010 17:13:

I think the e-mail just gives me a 10% discount, right?

Seems like it would be easier for me to buy their cheapest item, get an account, and then we can do the license transfer.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Mar-17-2010 17:15:

u do that while i go and take a shit.

edit: aahhhhhh

FabFilter Micro is only 15. (eur)
