Is there a Doctor in the house? - Eye problems.
Noticed this morning that my right eye lid was starting to swell up. There's nothing wrong with my eye - that I can see...not bloodshot and no discharge present, and my left eye is fine.
Its really starting to hurt...you know the kind of stinging you get in both eyes when you've been awake for 24+ hours, its like that...kinda like a heavy feeling. I have no idea what it is...unless I poked myself in the eye last night, but again, there's no sign of that at all.
The floor is now open to random suggestions, with the exception of "Eye AIDS"
its probably just a sty, mate.
theyre common enough, youi get them from being tired and run down, and/or rubbing your eyes too much with dirty fingers.. its just a bit of infection.. ive had them before.
its an old wives tale.. but apparently rubbing gold onto it will make it go away.. i have tried this before myself and it seems to have worked in a matter of a hours. just get a 24 carat gold ring and rub it on the eyelid thats hurting for a minute or 2
if you dont treat them, they can get quite big like the size of a pea, but i have never had one that big before. nothing to worry about tho
I can't live without this stuff. Two drops when waking up FTW.
Isn't there a hospital nearby you can visit?
I thought Sty's were like physical lumps like a spot? This is just overall swelling of the eye.
And WTF i'm a student, I don't have gold lol.

Sounds like Lupus to me.
i ain't got time for this, check for all the -osises!
My left eyelid swelled up like a bitch due to an infection when I was younger. Could barely see out of the eye and had a headache for a while too. I had to go to the doctor, got some antibiotics and swelling went away.

Weird, I just woke up this morning with something similar. Not swollen, but my left eye is a bit bloodshot and has a kind of heat/pressure feeling in it.
My diagnosis?
PINKEYE!

Sounds like an abscess. You'll need a mirror, rubbing alcohol, an exacto knife, unwaxed dental floss or fishing line, tweezers/pliers a nasal aspirator, a water-pick, saline, and a needle. Of course, you're probably concerned about pain. Find a stick and then chug a bottle of Jose' Cuervo (may also substitute for rubbing alcohol).
In order to avoid scarring, using your non-dominant hand, you'll want to take the pliers, lift the eyelid up, exposing the soft tissue and, with your dominant hand, make a small, quarter inch incision into the infected area using the exacto knife. Having already put the saline in the water pick, you'll now need to flush out the wound, liberally. Next, you'll need to call an ambulance because you have no depth perception and should have just gone to the doctor, but now your eye is probably really fucked. Even if it's not, you're too drunk to drive safely. Don't forget to take that stick out of your mouth.
What were you thinking; squirting saline into your eye to flush out an incision with a water-pick?
EDITS! GAH!

Does it look like this?
For real though, it's probably just a stye. Put a hot teabag on it several times a day and it'll go away.
It sounds like Macular Degeneration to me.
