[ Brutal Trancestep ] Owen Rushworth - The End of Reason
So, after years not producing anything, I managed to come up with a couple of tracks (and a pseudonym) in a single week. I took into account all the criticism regarding my other track and applied it to this one: I tried to make the bass drum more crispier so it could be heard on top of the bass... which I softened down a notch though it may still be a bit too loud (is it?).

Here's the description I wrote jestingly on Soundcloud:

| If an experimental track could exhale awesomeness, I think this would be a good candidate to kick its arse. Do you like acid? It's got some TB-303 in it. Do you like amen breaks? Here you have 'em. Oh, and how would you like an apocalyptic choir announcing the Armageddon? And how about a quote from Dostoevsky's classic "Notes from the Underground" recited through a vocoder on top of a filthy rolling bass line? It's got everything, with the sole exception of hoovers and cowbells. I don't think they'd fit the cataclysmic mood anyway, hideous though hoovers are. It gets somewhat fluffier in the end because everybody loves happy endings. Right? Right!? |
lira ur very awesome man, very nice structure, sound selection, song idea. just one thing i think you're mixing, balance in your mixing. now take this as my personal opinion. perhaps you should upgrade your listening orifice.
I love it tbh. Dirty with a hint of nasty, and then some nice thrown in.
The song wants to rip out my eardrums, in a nice tender sorta way.
Overall mix seems fine to me, I thought "Maybe a skosh more bass," but then I turned the knob on my bass to 100% and went "Nah," so not a big deal to me.
If I can get at least get the levels the way I like it using simple knob turns (Volume and bass typically), then it's fine in my books. (Most dj's will work their magic on your track in the club anyway)
Couldn't stop listening. Great work man.
Equalising the damn thing has always been my problem
But what happened this time? Is the bass too loud again?
Thanks for the comments, guys
