Question Laptop Advice ???

Hey guys and gals, i'm in the market for a new laptop i never owned one myself before but i'm looking to get something pretty solid so i can replace my desktop. I'm going to be using it for Dj software like Abelton, Traktor, Sony Acid Pro and Reason 4 some mild gaming like Team Fortress 2 and Photoshop. Mac is not an option as i don't like them at all, i was looking at mid range Sony Vaios, HP Pavilion or Alienware. Trying to keep the cost around $1000 - $1200.

Any advice would be appreciated

would definitely go with a dell laptop. They have lots of options in your price range and you can customize them to your liking.

Sick deal if you can find one. Guy at work just got one, less than 1500 taxes in. He had to drive to oakville though to find one. They might be all gone. At least the ones with the Nvidia chipset and GPU are history. Only intell chipset boards left.

Mac, hands down. I'm not a fan of the Mac OS either but I'm telling you Peter when it comes to audio production and performance you should use a Mac and a high quality external sound card.

I really find it hard to beleive there is anything a PC cant do that a mac can. If not better. What exactly makes it better? Software is software. U buy a shit PC and you get shitty results. The only thing mac has over PC is the hardware was assembled with other hardware that was meant to work flawlessly together. U can buy or build PC's like that too.

I have heard nothing but horror stories about HP laptops. Again, can't believe I even considered getting one.

*hugs Vaio lovingly*

For all disillusioned bitards, I'll share little secret, I took apart tons of laptops in last 3 years. Guess what? All of them are made in China from chinese parts.
What's a difference which label it will have glued to the front panel?
Apple has only one diff., its same hardware inside, but they have 10-15 models, hence no compatibility problems. Does it worth X2 money? Only to make fashion statement

Ha ha, good ole sony time bomb. Just like their cameras and cd players and phones I used to have. Never had a Vaio though. The one my friend has is damn nice.
