nyta wmc reviews...
IAM IN MIAMI BEEYOTCHHHHHH
AND I SURVIVED
forget all the non-believers who doubted me
will post a full review when i get back with vids and stuff
but all the nyta's who were down their post your reviews here
i will say tho, that i just got back from sunday school and to make a long story short me and bobby fist pump were hoes, and paco osuna was our pimp...wow one of the best sets this conference
peace out
Glad to hear you're alive and well. I had faith in you, soldier!
I'm not surprised about Paco, he's the man. Last year, rudeflame called me @ 3 am from Miami to tell me I was right and how he was converted and that Paco made him see the light, LOL.
Mr C was beyond amazing @ Get Lost. Missed his set on my bday @ Space beause Jamie Jones was on at the same time. Even my boyfriend loved him.
As far as trance - I didn't see many but Ferry wins all the way. He did WMC proper! He played such a good mix of song. From Classics, to current, to future hits.
Datt & I fuking loved Breakfast - Slow Motion. What a sick fuking track!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!!!
I simply adored Amurai - Unconditional Love.
I loved when Ferry got on the mic during synaesthesia and told the crowd to " SHUT IT.. let the music speak for itself" or something along those lines. I got it on video.
I was too damn tired from Get Lost to listen to anyone else. Was there for Ferry and Ferry only and I am damn glad I finally got to see him during WMC
party of the conference: pvd @ space

ok so i got back last night and got a good 12 hours of sleep
heres my review...(warning it will be long)
tuesday: arrived in miami went shopping and chilled out
went to see markus at night, before that got some drinks and ended up in some dark ally drinking peroni's lol after that went over to dream to see markus. Glen morrison was already on and wow he was dropping some hard ass prog stuff i cant wait to see him in a few weeks in nyc, after him Markus came on and played really hard i will tell you all this, he dont play like this in nyc
he closed out with rank1- breathing i was like ahhhhhhhhhh
highlight of the night was me walking around the club pouring shots of grey goose into peoples mouth like the guy from senior frogs lol
weds: went over the the pacha beach party at the gansevoort and the line was madd long luckly i met some people from cali who had a bottle of jack and a 2 liter of coke...and well you know how that goes ha ha, i got inside and again markus was on first laying down some nice prog, then all of a sudden louie devito comes on everyone was like wtf? his name was not even on the line-up he must have bought his way into the line-up or something guys sucks ass he played some bullshit mix of lime-were gonna love tonight lol seriously just go home above ane beyond were behind him waiting to go on and tony put his thumb down lol
above and beyond came on and were good after them was kaskade and i never seen him before but wow i was impressed with his set
after him was a few other dj's then chus & ceballos and it was the set of the day for me
hard percussion and tribal beats all day long had the whole crowd and all the ladies shakeing it
thursday: woke up at 1 and went over to parkwest and by time i got there paco was almost done spinning i was so pissed i didnt know his set would be so early blahhh after him was tenaglia, who i have not since halloween so i was feeening for a good afterhours set by that man, and i got it plus more. Amazing tech-house and techno all morning long i dont think i stoped danceing one min i was in heaven
the crowd was a lil weird tho, i mean at 9am i saw a priest danceing on the main floor lol the club itself was prob my fav venue down there, the sound system there is one of the best i ever heard sooo loud and crispppp
after parkwest i went over to the catalina hotel to check out my fellow nyta frequency frank play a nice short set
after that i went to the shelborne for loco/luciano pool party overall it was a fun party, a lil packed at times but the last 2 hours from those guys were bonkers, amazing music and a great vibe
after that i went to anjuna night and got right inside for the meet-up (which was a success thanx melly
) met alot of cool ta's from all over and jaytech was on pounding it out, it was my second time seeing him and iam really feeling him
above and beyond were on next so they played a good set alot of trancey stuff i enjoyed. Emery was on next, to me his first 30 min was too predicatble like which his own songs and mash-ups but after that he started to bang it out, wanted to stay for tyas but i was just so shot since i was up for like 25 hours already partying
friday: just walked around miami and relaxed then at night went over to space. Now this was one of the parties i was lookin foward to since i hear such good things about it. i got to space and wow what a cluster fuck of a staff, they had 5 different lines in the front and the bouncers got so confused they didnt even know what line was for which at some points, they opened to doors late and just very poorly run, got inside and went upstairs for joel mull who was really good, went back downstairs for svd i should have stayed upstairs tho svd was garbage same old bullshit songs he been playing for the past 6 months.
Now was the moment i been waiting for PVD AT SPACE and let me tell you, the guy was unreal!!!! the best pvd set i heard since the crobar closeing set in 2007, he was droping lots of melodic and banging trance and didnt play too much of that hard techy mash-up bullshit he always does. His set was my fav trance set of the conference hands down. After pvd was guiseppei who was great also and when i tryed to get back upstairs they told me it was an hour wait so i decided to bounce...on my way out the line was retarteddd lol everyone was tryin to come in and i was screaming "go home people its not worth the hour wait" some girl told me "please i will get up" so i told her "there were girls who were much hotter then you who were trying to get upstairs and didnt get up, what makes you think you can?" i pretty much shut down her self confidence ha ha
Sat: went over to the gansevoort rooftop since my friend was staying there and wow wat a nice place with amazing views i will prob go there next for a vacation. so pretty much all day i took the sun and went swimming, i seen fellow nyta pvdobsession who was beyond drunk lol i dont know how you were above water ha ha but good seeing you
at night went over to ferry's party and walked into solarstone who played one of the best progresive trance sets i ever heard, amazing beautiful chillout prog deff a great set. Next up was cosmic gate and i know they has a big fan base on here so i will just keep my mouth shut about what i though of them. After my nap i went back inside to hear ferry who at first was a lil slow, i guess cause he was tryin to keep play on the same level as cosmic before him
but after an hour he picked it up and i was feeling it, but i didnt get to see his full set cause i wanted to go to sunday school....
Sunday: went over to sunday school at 3:30 to hear my main man victor calderone, now i though his set was going to be a lil slower since he was on early but hell no, guy was droping nice hard techy stuff with great build-ups and drops i was loving every min of his set
after him was mr c and adultnapper who pretty much kept it on the same level vc was on so it was all out fun, adultnapper is easly one of the most underrated dj's imo. At 7 i left to go get some sleep and be back later...
after sleeping i woke up at like 1 and went over to wet willies to try their famous call-a-cab's and to behonest to me it tasted like a cherry slurpee from 7-11 lol i had to have 2 of them just to get something of a buzz, maybe it was just me since my liver took a beating all week ha ha
went back to sunday school at 3:30 and walked into function who was playing the same kind of stuff i was hearing when i was there early in the morning so it was great it felt like i never left. Next up outdoors was lee and danny who were really good, lee deff was a beast tho when he was on. I was out there for a few and chilling with all the nyta's and some friends from canada just enjoying it
after that i went to see steve bug for a lil who was good, but after that was mr paco osuna wow what a great set by him, the man is not human...easly one of my fav sets i was loving every min of it
after paco was leger who imo played a good set, very simalar to his set at nokia a few days before but overall it was fun
sunday school is deff a memorable experience, i now understand why people hype it up to what it is
just a good day of music and wacky people
its like the sunday school tent at electric zoo times 10 ha ha
overall my wmc was a great expereince, i hit up every party i wanted to and heard alot of new dj's and some amazing music all week long
thank you to all the nyta's who i partyed with threwout the week
i have a few more things to say about wmc, but i will save that for another post, and i should have my videos up by 2marrow so be patient
Nice review Andrew
And thanks again for stopping by on Thurs! I was def shocked to see a fellow NYTA'er there, haha.
"the best pvd set i heard since the crobar closeing set in 2007"
DAMN!
Wtf, was aystar taking notes the whole week? This has to be some sort of set up.
Tuesday- agreed, Markus was insane, so good. I also really liked Glenn Morrison who opened for him. When you are already drunk and aystar has a bottle in his hand forcing you to drink, run. Best day plans to set off a week of booze- liquor shopping with Andrew, Ravi, Barak, and Matt on Barak's lap smashed together in the back of the car to go all the way to North Beach for cheap liquor, priceless, pic on fb. After Markus I went with some non TAs to Le Foile d'Amour for Paco Osuna and Marco Carola. Paco was done when we got there but Marco was great. The place was too packed, over sold but the crowd was nice. I couldn't stay long because I wanted to nap before Hush Hush that I missed because the alarm did not go off.
edit- how can I forget dancing in Pizza Rustica? When we left Markus and stopped for a slice, really good house came on. We started dancing in the place, lol.
Wednesday- Got to Dip In when Gareth Emery was on, really good. Everyone was wondering about the surprise close, Sander van Doorn. My friend went crazy, we were up front, not moving from our spot the whole time, kept dancing. Then hit Wet Willie's for a Call A Cab. I usually get the small but the waiter goes the large is only two more, done. We walked it over to Nikki Beach for Flying Circus with Steve Lawler, Audiofly, Timo Maas, Tiefschwarz, Heidi, Davide Squillace, Luca Bacchetti, Nick Curly, Matthias Tanzmann, Hosh, Solomun, Alex Niggeman, Miss Jools, Sean Miller, Geddes. Wow it was good, stayed until close. The problem, my Call A Cab had me nice and tipsy. Andrew texts me that Danny Tenaglia at Parkwest is sick and we have to go. Turned the cab around blocks from the unit to go downtown. I used to like him years ago but his style changed. That night, he was so good. He made a new mix with Lady by Modjo that was really nice but it would have been better if it was mixed in more. Then he killed me when he put on Lady Gaga. On my fb- I fell in love with Danny Tenaglia when he played Lady by Modjo then he broke my heart when he played Lady Gaga. The crowd was guido but did not mind, everyone was so nice. We danced with a priest and it was so funny.
Thursday- took it light during the day because we had a lot of plans. I went on the best boat party ever and I have done a lot. Listed had Twilight on the Tiki with SOS(Demi, Desyn, Omid), six hour set, six hours of open bar. The crowd was a lot of San Francisco and Burners who have a Burning Man camp. They are such an amazing group. It was only one hundred fifty on the boat, small crowd so everyone spends time together. If you do a boat party, it has to be on Tiki. The set was amazing, we could not stop dancing. They recorded it and should be up soon. Best moment on the Tiki- when they played Depeche Mode enjoy the silence. From my fb- SOS playing Depeche Mode enjoy the silence on the tiki this is my code, enjoy the silence do not think too much it is beautiful. Talked to Desyn about it, we hugged, it was so cute. Made such great friends on the Tiki and heard a great set, what more can you want.
Went to Nocturnal for Clandestine Arts Showcase with Guy Gerber (live), Paul Ritch (live), dOP(live), Sascha Funke, Kiki, Seth Troxler, Sean Reeves, Lee Curtiss, Heidi, Matt Tolfrey, DJ T., Thomas Schumacher, Alexi Delano, Camea, Ali Schwarz (Tiefschwarz), Italoboyz. Music was good, system was horrible, crowd made me want to leave. We could not take it there. Left for Resolute at Grass with Mathias Kaden (Live), Elon, Connie, Radio Slave, Francois K, Roberto Bosco. Radio Slave was great, got some of Elon. I know I can see some of them in NY but it was nice to catch up with friends late.
Friday- a few friends were supposed to play at the Sullivan Room Rooftop at Bentley Hotel but bad rain had them stop for hours. We were supposed to go on Guy Gerber's yacht party but the rain was bad and the winds were not ideal for being on a boat at that time. We went back later to Bentley and it was just over. It was not my day so missed Lee Burridge and Danny Howells, missed One Night Only, missed Get Lost : (
Saturday- still having an issue, stayed in until amazing friends talked me out of being sad. Went to Basic All Stars at Beach Plaza for Tom Middleton, DJ T, Mark Farina, Thomas Schumacher, and Jody Wisternoff. I love DJ T, he had such good energy about himself, they were all really good. Funny when Chris Luzz and I were walking away to get a drink and Deep Inside came on so we ran back. Boo was dancing to it with an umbrella and it was not raining, funny. We could not stop moving, think I got my drink after an hour. Luzz asked where I was going that night, when I said John Digweed, he was was on it. A lot of people were supposed to go for Digweed that I know but they never made it over from Get Physical, big mistake. His set at Vagabond was his best I heard. I have heard John since his first NY set in the 90's. He is my favorite dj for a reason. Chris and his friend left a few hours before close. I stayed non stop dancing until close by myself. Met so many great people. I even met someone from Sao Paulo that is close with my friend who moved there such a small world. At the end of his set, John told everyone- make sure you tell everyone you had a horrible time, bad music lol. It was really special and it was obvious he knew he had one of his best sets. Some friends laugh that the Danny Howells Donna Summer remix of I Feel Love is one of my favorites but, ha, it is John's too, part of his close was with it. Took a pic with him and talked for a few, ready for him in NY.
Walked over to Sunday School to meet with friends, so tired from dancing for so long. Rested on a couch and heard DJ T open outside. I really like him, it is too bad he was on so early. I went home and slept for a while.
Sunday- came back to Sunday School in the afternoon. It was great to hear everyone's stories from the week and it was such a good ending. So funny when Kelly text Andrew asking if he saw English Rachel. We were all sitting together and Rachel introduced herself. Andrew was talking to her and I tell him who she is. Guess you had to see it but so funny and she is so nice. We walked over to the after party for a few but friends wanted to see Camea and Alexi Delano at Space. I can not stand Space and some friends did not go because of their manipulation. We waited outside for a while when they tell everyone guys in shorts can not come it. It was after Sunday School that was bad. So we left walked back to the other party but did not want to stay. So we go back to my place for a swim and jacuzzi. The area was closed so stealth we went with towels hidden, a lot of drinks, and hopped the fence. That was probably the best ending to the week. We went to eat after, stayed up all night having a nice time.
Monday- sorry to everyone that was supposed to come to the party at my place and pool. We fell asleep at nine in the morning, set the alarm for ten but did not get up until four. I had to get ready to fly back so it was hard to get everyone over.
I want to thank everyone for such a great week. I had some hard times but everyone really helped me. It was so nice seeing everyone out and to the ones who came to my place, wow. My door is always open to all of you in Miami. The drinks are cold, the jacuzzi is hot, and even though the pool is locked we still know how to get in lol.

Datt and I never once made it to SoBe this trip. We were sad. We couldn't even eat delicious Pasha's because we were always too deprived of food and needed something quick - or we just weren;t hungry.
I haven';t stopped eating since I came back. Hoping to somewhat look normal. I look like horse shit. I could have slept all fuking day today
. I hate work. I hate my life.
I think I am really done with WMC. Datt and I had an absolute blast together. I think we fell so much more in love and it's just really nice cuz our anniversary is coming up - but then we think about ASOT450 and I think the both of us want to just cry. lol
It was good, it was fun.. one of the most fun times I've had since maybe 06? But fuk this. I am too old for this shit. I just want to recover fastttttttterrrrrrrrr.....

fear and loathing in miami...(a luzzumentry)
thurs:
we arrived at around 4:00pm or so.
we went to wet willies first thing when we arrived. got ourselves a round of call-a-cabs which were extremely delicious. saw master chiarello and his boy there.
after that we attempted to goto the get physical party at the gansevoort unfortunately it was too late upon our arrival and they wouldn't let us in telling us it was going to end at 8 and we arrived at 7:40, oh well.
went back to the hotel, got ready, pregamed a bit then headed to space terrace for lawler and company.
great night overall. whoever opened up the terrace that night (looked like a little german guy, tiefschwarz maybe?) was amazing. opened up with some sick 118 bpm groovers that got me going for sure. the bass on the terrace is the best part, so much oomph to it, love it. only problem is the high's are a bit much as i had ringing in my ears throughout my whole time down there.
anywho, tanzmann went on after that little guy and rocked it proper. couldn't id anything but it was just some great uptemo bumpin' house. lawler was sick too as with voorn. doope night overall.
friday:
we went to the sander k/desyn boat party. this was amazinggg. good vibes all around, not too packed, not too empty, just right. open bar with not too long of a line. was just a perfect party. as oppose to who rocked it more, sander or desyn? definitely sander..
at this point i was running on no sleep for almost 2 days so we decided to sleep friday night which was a very wise choice...
saturday am:
we got food then went to the get lost party. unfortunately we weren't in the state of mind that everyone was in at that party and decided not to stay too long. that party should have been called light and dark. you had 2 options, being in the dark inside freezing or being a sweatbox outside in the blaring sun..i didn't like any of those options so we left early haha. man that party takes the cake as the most fucked up bunch of crackie's i have ever seen. ouch lol.
after that crackbox...
we ended up going to the bentley rooftop for some of the nyc locals as well as fortier and paulo mojo. great party that was. good vibes all around and music was on point throughout the whole afternoon/night.
we went to beach plaza (which is also where we were staying) right after to check out jody wisternoff at 8:30. loveeeed his set of course. played alot of the tracks from the album and was just good vibes all around.
saturday night:
we went to the sulli party for a bit then went with yumPOP to digweed at vagabond. MY GOD, digweed was PHENOMINAL!. probably the best technical set i heard down there without a doubt. perfect flow and vagabond itself was a really cool venue. we left at around 6 which was a little early due to my friend not feeling to well, man i wanted to close that out. i'm sure he was amazing till the end
sunday am:
we went to sunday school at around 10:45: caught a bit of soul clap outside, cool vibe they had, nice 115 bpm spacey disco cuts. vincenzo played after and started his set with ronda-folana...dooope start right there, played a few of his own tracks as well but kind of lost me at the end of his set and playing tom middleton's remix of orbital-halcyon right before middleton goes on is amateur hour lol. middleton went on after vincenzo and was great, played some great deep house. rest of the day got foggy for me so don't remember much of the other acts, although i remember us getting really bored from seth troxlers set and decided to leave sunday school and head to the bentley rooftop to catch add2basket and jody wisternoff again. unfortunately both of them never showed up which sucked (heard some crazy story about porter and jody's night before and wasn't amazed he wouldn
t be there haha) but we still enjoyed ourselves there.
by sunday night at around 8 we called it quits and went back to the hotel to just unwind and drink ourselves to sleep till our flight in the am.
overall it was a great wmc. had a great time with great friends and good people.
only thing that surprised me was there was absolutely no wmc 'bomb' this year like prior. maybe it's the way most house tracks are nowadays with little to no hook and just deep vocal cuts which don't stand out from the other?
not sure, but it is a new generation, 2010. can't wait to go next year! man, if i can go back, i'd so hit up that loco dice/luciano party..from the looks at some of the videos i seen, that seemed to be the party of the conference
just a preview of my videos lol
That Loco Dice vs Luciano party made a minimal monster out of me. After hearing that music I couldn't enjoy Pete's Pool party at all, the Steve Angello show had some terrible music (and I hate their style of mixing, killing the sound every other track, shit's lame) but I thouroughly enjoyed the Yoshitoshi 15 year anniversary.
I dont really remember lots of details, but overall I had a blast.

deadmau5 is one fugly mofo
aite peeps i got a few more things to add bout wmc
1. if you though the public transportation sucks in nyc, you havent seen nothing till you go down to miami. Horrible service, filthy buses and even more cracked out people. People just lookin like they just got out of rehab and argueing over w.i.c checks and stuff...its deff very sad
one thing i found funny was this guy gets on the bus and tells the bus driver "yo i dont have money for fare but you want to buy my container of potato salad?" the bus driver just told him to get on lol
2. downtown miami is even more grimey then the bus, holy shit what a fuckin dump, think newark nj via 1993 such a difference between south beach and downtown miami where the clubs are i highly suggest anyone going down there in the future to go with a large pack of people
3. overall it was a fun expereince i will prob do it again the future but for not as many days
ok so let me shut up for now
heres some videos...i uploaded alot but i dont wanna post them all to my page you can see them here
http://www.youtube.com/my_videos?feature=mhw4
altho i will show you my final word on what i have to say about wmc
Bump.
This thread needs more pictures and videos. Or post up a link to your Facebook. This week, I have been completely addicted to looking at photos and living vicariously through WMC goers.
Thanks and carry on.
