His track selection is repetitive and boring, but his mixing never fails

10. Spacefunk - Evilback

Thats the track with the Nickelback sample
He played it back in 2003 from time to time.

wow, was I off, a complete rework on Nickelback - How You Remind Me

I though it was a 90's track with a female vocal. Either way I knew it was familiar but could not figure it out.

PVD's style of mixing isn't bad per-say, he does a lot of key mixing which to the untrained ear just sounds like he faded from one track to the other really quick for no reason.

In actuality, there is more skill in key mixing than in the whole beat matching concept, If I gave someone two tracks warp markered to the average Ableton user that PVD key mixed I seriously doubt 95% of people could do what he does with it.

Trust me though, his Ableton tracks are are warp markered extremely well and I have not heard a train-wreck from him in a really long time.

The was some hiccups in the recording that Sirius played but not in the actual set, I was there

Its a pretty rare whitelabel from 2003, but a really nice one.

Nice!

Enjoyed the set, especially the mix in key as mentioned prior. This would've been great to hear live at Space...although I would have gone and unplugged that train horn so they couldn't use it......

38. BT - Flaming June (ID Rmx) + [ID Clap Loop]

Sounds to me like mashup more than a some kind of remix...

Posted by WardC on Apr-01-2010 01:07:

The CD player messed up a couple times during the set (During Northing But You) and there is some skippity-skip, the set isn't perfect. I wonder if all the jumping up and down caused the CD player to skip or if the CDs were just scratched or dirty.

Posted by WardC on Apr-01-2010 01:29:

Any luck on IDing track #3 or #25? I would really like to know what these are!!

First of all pvd doesn't use cd playesrs So that's defenatly is not his fault. It's going to be something else.

The track I am trying to identify from the set is track #25, played after JOC "Our Dimension". Here is a sample:

Much help would be appreciated!

Listened to the re-broadcast on Sunday AM on Sirius/XM driving to breakfast in South Beach from his Friday night set... Was there both nights... Flawless in terms of mixing, so I believe Friday night's set has skipping during Nothing But You, which is all Sirius/XM, it did not happen during the liveset.

What a fucking weekend. Amazing. In my opinion, Saturday night from Paul was better, but it could be that he was taking my requests... Yay for the new remix of Off the World

...just made it through Binary Finary - 1998, and can also confirm whatever skips in the recording didn't happen during the liveset.

Yeh I found out how rare it is, none the less I found it and an original vinyl is on the way to my house. I will rip it into 320kbps since the 192k sounds horrible
