middle of Deadmau5's set, i walked away.

I saw Steve Aoki at the Gansevort on friday night and he absolutely DESTROYED the place. He crowd surfed. /discussion

Juicy party let me down (we left at 7pm)

Plump DJ's (friday, Ultra) were surprisingly good. we just randomly walked past them and thoroughly enjoyed a quick 30 minutes of them.

Above & Beyond @ Karu... dream come true.

Ferry @ Karu... he always delivers his A game.

there's more i can judge, but i'm so shot. i just got home.

Killed It:

Gareth Emery
Swedish House Mafia
Faithless
Bloody Beetroots

I went to the stage Bloody Beetroots were playing at looking for some friends and got completely blown away by the energy. They had the crowd going nuts.

Posted by cl0wnz0r on Mar-30-2010 07:00:

all i have to say is...solar fucking stone. wow rich played one of the best classic sets i have ever heard.

Posted by mar46017 on Mar-30-2010 10:18:

Swedish House Mafia as a whole and separate killed it. So did Afrojack and David Guetta F*** Me I'm Famous...oh wow! Stop it guys. Gonna get depression soon.

Those S.O.S. were bringing it also...

Eric Prydz has gotten a little trancey it appears. I've heard him do better than what I heard at Set. Or maybe it was Set's boojieness or the most expensive Incredible Hulks I was drinking ($25 each )

"Charge it to the game!"

Fun times...how many more days to go until 2011?

Space @ VivA Terrace
Boris- was so on that night it was spiritual
Joris Voorm- I thought this guy was Ferry- I just looked up his pic and this was the badass that was rocking the terrace- He was on something and it was working.
Steve Lawler- I Know he was there and he killed it.

What a great night at Space.

Circolo @ eden roc.
Too slow for my speed- wasnt too impressed stayed because we didnt have anywhere else to go.

Posted by Seppuku on Mar-30-2010 15:31:

Matthew Dear playing 3 hours past closing time @ Spectral was probably one of the highlights for me.

Hot Natured's disco set was an absolute blast.

Radio Slave actually surprised the fuck out of me.

I can't think of anyone I went out of my way to see that really disappointed me.

Posted by MindShifter on Mar-30-2010 16:00:

burridge and howells b2b @ aero - just fucking relentless - can only imagine what their closing set @ sunday school was like

jooris vorn @ listed @ the victor - first time seeing him live and was impressed, he had been hit or miss for me in sets i'd heard

will saul @ listed @ the victor - actually kept me from seeing most of three's set which is saying something

no one really fell on their face from what i can think back on

Posted by drEamer on Mar-30-2010 16:23:

solarstone impressed me

A-Gamers-

-SOS on the Tikki..namely Omid who is underrated
-THREE > Joris Voorn > Agoria @ Victor BALANCE nonstop awesomeness on the rooftop!
-Soul Clap @ Get Lost
-Faithless @ Ultra (for DJ purpose BLISSY is great with the large festival sound)
-Bennassi @ Ultra
-RADIOSLAVE b2b LAWLER @ VIVA brought it so damn hard and smooth and mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....sorry havin a moment..

one and only stinker the entire time for me was Desyn Masiello's set at BALANCE, he closed the pool side and I almost fell asleep..only made it about 14 minutes into his set and the vibe was dead...unfortunate b/c I've been a big Desyn cheerleader for years..

Boris surprised me and a friend. I had no idea it was going to be that good

Deadmau5 broke my heart
For me, Wolfgang Gartner's 15 minute set was AMAZING. Holy crapped, he rocked the house. In my opinion, they should have never put LMFAO on the main stage and given that extra time to Gartner.

Oh, and Swedish House Mafia. When they did Sweet Dreams, I nearly died when that break kicked in. Definitely best in show for me. I'm searching all over the internet for their set.

A-GAME:

Joris Voorn was a monster on the terrace for Viva night @ Space. Dude brought incredible energy and was dropping bomb after bomb while rolling the sh!t out of basslines that got the crowd moving after a HUGE lul in the excitement...which I'll get to in my "Dud" section.

Adam Freaking Beyer @ Drumcode and SSFD. Beyer was the one DJ I was dying to see as I've loved everything he's done over the past year as far as his recorded sets go and had not yet seen him live. He tagged with his lady Ida a bunch but make no mistake about it... Beyer was the Boss. He wrapped up Drumcode and SSFD with two amazingly epic Tech gems that I'm sure will be heard from over the next year. I'll post vids of these later. His SSFD appearance was incredible.

Function @ SSFD: Had not evern heard of this guy before I saw him destroy inside room at the Ice palace. Dude played live and played hard, heavy Techno that had the room in a frenzy. Definitely a guy to keep your eye on.

Konrad Black @ Get Lost: Maybe the best sounding set I heard during conference as everything he played just sounded so good in that dark dank room at that moment in time. Amazing set.

Matthias Kaden @ SSFD: I never knew homeboy could throw down like that. MY GOD. Check out the Youtube videos of this cat over the next few weeks. I'll leave it at that.

Matthias Tanzmann @ Viva and SSFD: Was thoroughly impressed by everything he played at both parties, and played a much edgier form of Tech than what you'd normally hear from him. Dropped a sick remix of Luna City Express- "Mr. Jack" @ both parties

Dud:

M.A.N.D.Y. @ Viva was a complete joke. No energy. No groove. Didn't even look like the dude cared. He came on after a great set by Lawler and completely sucked the life out of the terrace. THANK GOD for Joris coming on right afterwards and Sweeping the Fvcking Floor for hours. I heard he blew donkey balls @ Get Physical too. My friend who attended said he was so bad he would have liked to have punched him in the face.

Best Set: Joris @ Space Terrace
WMC MVP: Adam Beyer

Damn, almost went to Sunday School as well

For me..

A Game -

Eric Prydz (on all three occasions)
Way Out West (DJ Mag Pool Party)
Joris Voorn (DJ Mag Pool Party)
Sasha & Digweed (Ultra, didn't catch all of it, but they were great)
Orbital (Ultra, been waiting for years to see these guys perform and they didn't disappoint)

Lost the plot -

Deadmau5 (his sets can actually be enjoyable, but this just wasn't)
Tiesto (I still have no idea why I even wanted to catch his set, I think I was drunk, but we walked away after 20mins, fuck me he was awful)

Posted by snatonsb on Mar-31-2010 19:45:

A Game -
1. Cosmic Gate - I saw them twice during conference, yacht party and ferry party, They brought the vibe every time and they even switched their set up instead of playing repeat sets like some dj's I know during WMC. I know they may play at alot of places but hey they always throw down!

2. Heidi - Saw her @ Welcome To Miami @ Nikki Beach and wow she can mix good + throw on some good tunes to groove to!

3. Davide Squillace - Saw him @ Welcome To Miami also and he threw it down so hard with some jungle beats, I saw him rip it up again @ Circoloco on Friday.

4. Markus Schulz - Caught his extended 4 hour set Tuesday to kick things off and saw him at the beach party. He knows how to work the crowd and has great interaction.

5. 16 Bit Lolitas - WOW! I saw them play, even though only one is basically djing, He tore the Anjunadeep room to shreds! Their songs "Take It Or Leave It" and "Red Road" sounded so amazing live! The vibe was great in that room!

6. Andy Moor - Wow dude tore the Anjunabeats room to shreds and hearing his new remix live with the girl vocal is beyond amazing!

7. Gareth Emery - Tore it up so hard after A&B's set and started off with his new tune "Global" Hearing Exposure live finally was also a big plus for me!

8. Hernan Cattaneo - Saw him in the garden area on Saturday night and man he is the master of mixing and building, even Oakenfold was jamming out behind the decks with him. He dropped 16 Bit Lolitas "Red Road" and it was great to hear that track live again, Cannot wait to see him come to Miami again!

9. Adam Beyer & Ida Enberg - They were tearing shit up like crazy in the warehouse of Sunday School, They were completely mind fucking me and my brain felt like mush, I had to go outside for fresh air a few times because they were playing so intense!

10. Tom Middleton - He was ripping the outside area of Sunday School apart playing real nice groovy tunes!

Dj's that fell on their face -

1. Wippenberg - I saw him twice and I really didn't like his sets, his mixing was very subpar, and the only good thing I heard from him was On/Off which is such a old track too.

Can't really think of any other dj that made me think man this guy sucks, So I guess that's a good thing I didn't catch that many shit sets lol.

Everything at the Perfecto party on Sat at the Gardens was on point. I wasn't too into the Ferry set, but as always the man is the best showman in the business.
