2010.04.25 [SF] SUNSET Season Opener 2010 @ Stafford Lake Park :: An SF Institution!!
Hi All,
Spring is in the air and that means the SUNSET season is just around the corner. We are just under 2 weeks from celebrating the opening of another exciting year and seeing all the smiling faces of our friends from new to old. With as many years as we have been doing the SUNSET Parties we wonder will it ever come to an end? It's hard to say since they continue to be as fun and inspiring from when they started in so many ways. The main one of course comes from why the party was created in the first place: to bring friendly people together in a single unified afternoon to unwind or get crazy together in a beautiful outdoor setting while dancing and listening to top quality dance music.... So we continue and have yet another wonderful day planned for picnicing, dancing, socializing, and generel frolicing about. More info coming your way soon including: Directions, *ride shares, etiquette of the park, and the after-party!

Parking Fee: $8 per vehicle (this is the standard park entry fee which is unrelated to us)

there's pretty much 2 things i look forward to every year, and that's lovefest and sunset park parties. this one right here pretty much signals the beginning of the high season in sf... here the weather is warm, the hills are green, and everyone from your baby nephew to your grandmother to the park rangers is out on the grass enjoying the perfection of the moment... DON'T miss out!

Stafford Lake is sure nice. But given this economy, maybe they could consider a venue change. Bridge toll, gas, parking fee, small things add up to be a lot.

stafford lake park is the perfect venue for this. no other location closer to sf could hold the 3000-3500 people (and all the cars they park) free of charge without having any issues whatsoever. the park rangers love the fact that sunset is at stafford lake because they pretty much make the majority of their annual revenue that day from the parking fees. as a result they don't hassle people about anything as long as you're respectful of the park. if you fill up your car with 3 friends, it shouldn't cost you a thing to get there. you drive, shotgun has gas, other guy gets toll, other guy gets parking fee, split a 30 pack, everyone wins. as epic as the treasure island party was last year, the weather was nowhere near as nice as novato. even with the sun shining all day, treasure island was windy as hell. stafford lake is like a summer picnic, you don't even think about sleeves until the sun goes down. also, dirtybird bbq last sunday was so epic. the weather, the food, and the music was just perfect. i couldn't care less about going out at night anymore. it's festival season bitches!
Well shit that's just up the 101 for me. Think I'll try to make it up there for this one.
