BPM Studio help

I've been using PCDJ red for awhile, but its several annoying bugs have really been getting on my nerves lately.

I've started to play with BPM Studio again (I used it a long time ago), but my hardware configuration has changed, and I can't get it working the way I want.

I have an external mixer, and a Soundblaster Live! 5.1. I want Player A to go out the front output, and Player B out the back, so I can hook each player to the mixer as a seperate device.

In the Audio I/O menu, I have the following options for sound devices:

SB Live! Wave Device [1+2]
SB Live! Wave Device [3+4]
SB Live! Wave Device [5+6]

Logically, I set Player A to [1+2] and Player B to [3+4], but I only got sound from Player A. I've tried several combinations, but nothing wants to work.

Do I need to have my Live! card in a specific mode (ie, 2 spk, 4 spk, 5.1, Live! Surround?)

btw, I am using WindowsXP Pro, if that helps

winxp pro sucks for bpm studio...
pcdj sucks in general (no question about it...
a friend of mine reinstalled windows 98 just to work with it...

only he owns the sb live, not the 5.1

you sure need to adjust your soundcard at 4speaker setting, (no surround or anything).

if it should not work try uninstalling drivers and work with the drivers automatically installed by windows xp.

after that make sure the adjustment is set at 4 speakers.

then you should have the following options:

SB Live! Wave Device (Front)
SB Live! Wave Device (Rear)

but in that case you should probably have a delayed echo (double bass) sound in each channel, which is really annoying, and making it impossible to listen to music. that is what happens in the common SB Live!, a friend of mine said there is no problem with his SB Live! 5.1 though...

it's up to you to reinstall winxp drivers and set the adjustment at 4 speakers...

I totally agree that Win XP is not going to cut it for BPM Studio, or many MP3 programs to be exact... From my experience i had nothing but problems when I used Windows XP. I have always been able to use MP3 MIxing programs with Windows 98 SE without a problem. Im referring to BPM Studio and mixvibes pro, and also, ive always used two sound cards. Preferrably a soundblaster live and a turtlebeach (same thing as sound blaster). If you can get two sound blasters to work, that would work best.
