"Shreds" Videos

"Shreds" videos are where you take a video of a musician performing and overdub terrible music plus crowd noise to make it look like a slightly real concert.

People have been making them for rock stars for years and I just noticed someone made one for Tiesto & Crystal Method (about time we had our own versions).

Santeri Ojala (aka "StSanders") originated "shreds" on YouTube. He was on the Jimmy Kimmel show w/ Slash and did a Slash shred alongside him.

My brother and I spent an entire night laughing so hard we cried watching shred videos. I'll post a few of our favourites. Amazingly humorous.

they're pretty funny....I can see how some people don't think they're funny though....they require you to have at least somewhat of a decent knowledge of musical in general....to the degree where you would actually have to know, and respect, just how good that artist is to find the humour in the complete mockery that is being made of them in the video's....which are funny.

I understand the concept. Clapton and Santana are some of the greatest guitar players of all time, and Layla is one of my favourite songs. Pure genius.

But I just don't see how these are so funny that they make you cry... oh well.

I lol'ed at all of them, but especially at Tiesto and Crystal Method. What makes those even more funny (or not) is that they could probably do a real gig like that and nobody would notice or care.

Crickets were a nice touch lol.

"Creed Shreds Again!" and the Angus Young (especially near the end) one had me doubled over laughing. Tiesticle was pretty damn funny, too.
