I think it would be great if everyone actually used the EVENT option when posting events. Swamper was kind enough to give Western Canada our own so lets take advantage of it. Also, its a much better way to keep all our events organized

Half of the threads of 1 or 2 posts in them.. just create topics for the main ones that require discussion.

Yeah but if you click on the Western Canada Event Listings, it lists all the events there rather than having to search thru the Western Canada forum for it.

What do you mean "search through the forum"?
There are threads dating back more than a month on the first page alone. Event threads in the forum area actually adds life to an otherwise DEAD place to visit.

Yeah but unlike other event forums on here, like the Toronto one, if you put a thread in the Event forum, it also shows up in the regular Western Canada forum. But if you don't use the Event function in the thread, it won't show up in the event forum. I just think the Event forum is a better tool to use to promote events.

Event threads are actually displayed amongst other threads in the Western Canada forum even if the date of the event has passed -- this, in theory, is supposed to foster discussion/reviews of the event after the fact (since people aren't always willing to start a new thread just to post their review, but may still post their comments/pics/etc. within the original event thread

Also, there is the option to NOT list event threads within the main forum by clicking the 'Hide event threads within this forum' link on the top right of the Western Canada forum
