Stayed here once. Kinda loud though during the day. Also stayed in Santa Eulalia which is kinda family orientated, city like and quiet. It appears San Antonio is the place to stay for cheap, however it is known for massive amount of drunken Brits.

Hotel Algarb in Playa d'en Bossa. (not to be confused with the more expensive Hotel Garbi).

Algarb is fairly cheap and located within 5 minutes of the main PDB strip.

This looks convenient

If you're not planning on hitting the clubs in San Antonio I don't see any reason to stay there. A cab to Space or Pacha is gonna cost you about $40 one way.

I've stayed at Garbi and Jet, was happy with both.

A bit out of the way but not too bad. The closer it is to the main PDB strip the better.

if you can afford it, I like the Pacha hotel... you do get free guest list entry into Pacha every nite you are a guest so that makes the effective cost of staying there less...

we ended up going 5 out of 6 nites there last time... but a few of the nites we went more as a 2nd choice after leaving Hed Kandi and Amnesia...

of course if you are not going to Pacha at all or only 1/2 times the guest list benefit is much less.

i'd probably stay there again just b/c its one of the nicest hotels on the island. i've also stayed at the Royal Plaza twice and once at Es Vive... both are less expensive and worth staying at...

Posted by Hypersky on Apr-21-2010 01:50:

I had a fairly underwhelming experience during my week at El-Hotel. The prices there are just ridiculously high compared to what you get. Its nice to get into Pacha for free, but then again there's nothing in Pacha that interests me, except perhaps the Sushi restaurant outside. The bar inside El-Hotel isn't bad, nor is the fact that you can walk to a few other bars in the vicinity (Grial and Keeper), as well as El-Divino when it was still in business. Aside from that, its not worth spending that much money on a place that's fairly far away from where most people spend their time.

I didn't check for the June nights, but the times I'm looking at in July, the minimum is 4 nights.

A big problem

I'm sure there are other places in PDB that don't have this requirement. Have you checked into Garbi or Migjorn?

The area outside the main PDB strip and Jet Apartments has too much going on anyways. Not very peaceful imo. You see the same guy pacing back and forth trying to sell drugs, you have people trying to get you to come inside their bar and you have people trying to sell you nightclub tickets.

Not yet...I need to decide on:

So I'm coming in 7/2 for We Love Space. The question is, do I stay 3 nights (leaving Wednesday) or 4 nights (leaving Thursday)?

KehaKuma @ Space could be interesting, but I'm not sold on it yet.

I'll probably be doing:

Sun: We Love Space @ Space
Mon: Cocoon @ Amnesia
Tue: Carl Cox Opening @ Space

I'd stay 4 nights if i were you. Those three parties and Circo Loco as well if you can make it. Use Wed and part of Thu to wind down and relax.

Actually they have cracked down on that a lot after several of the bars on the strip were raided last year.

Just stay here and call it a day.

What have you found flights for? I just checked late July/early Aug for 1 week and it was about $1400-$1500.

Posted by Hypersky on Apr-29-2010 14:23:

You should be able to find them in the 1200 range on Kayak. September would be considerably cheaper, possibly as low as 700-800.

I'm using miles again to get over the pond, all I'm booking is BCN-IBZ.
